The inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Classic held by Coach Reece of Oak Ridge did not disappoint. There was an epic battle between Florida’s top local prospects, an underrated guard exploded for 37, and tons of big underclassmen performances. Let’s check in on the top prospects of each team.

Tampa Catholic

Without [player_tooltip player_id="1055791" first="Karter" last="Knox"] on the floor, it was [player_tooltip player_id="962519" first="Eddrin" last="Bronson"]’s show to run. Saturday’s game was a great shooting display for the 2023 guard. He hit shots on all levels, including finishing over a great shot blocker in 6’8 [player_tooltip player_id="814550" first="Dylan" last="James"]. He competes on both ends. Bronson guards 1-3 using his length and foot speed to corral ball handlers. He even switched on to James, who has several inches on him. You can count a charge and a few steals to his defensive stats.

Names of Note: 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1301730" first="Isaiah" last="Campbell-Finch"] had excellent point guard play for such a young lead guard. He scored a game-high 21 for TC, hitting pull-up jumpers off screens and catch and shoot threes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1065489" first="Roderick" last="Watson-Pearcey"] continues to wow me with his defensive presence. He comfortably defends each perimeter position. The senior is a disruptive defender in passing lanes. Takes charges and blocks shots at the rim. Good athlete that can score all over the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055790" first="Christian" last="Cole"] is one of TC’s unsung heroes. He’s a knock down three point shooter that hit three of four off the catch.

Winter Haven

[player_tooltip player_id="814550" first="Dylan" last="James"] had an incredible start. He’s a great shot blocker that will challenge everything at the rim. An effortless athlete that can play in the paint and on the perimeter. He rebounds outside of his area. Most importantly, he’s one of the top shooting bigs in Florida.

Names of note: [player_tooltip player_id="1055762" first="Jamie" last="Phillips"] has great size for the lead guard position. At 6’4 with a husky frame, he absorbs contact on downhill drives. He shot well in the midrange and from three. He’s a good rebounder as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055750" first="Isaac" last="Celiscar"] plays an inside-outside game as a 6’6 forward. He can handle the ball on the perimeter, get good positioning in the paint, and rebound with bigger guys.

St. Petersburg

[player_tooltip player_id="709233" first="Tristan" last="Gross"] is a pure shot maker. Gross has a great feel for coming off screens and creating his shots. If there’s a sliver of space the shots going up and more likely than not, it’s going in. He’s great at shooting the ball off the bounce in the midrange and from deep. The quickness he uses to get separation is used in passing lanes on defense.

Names of Note: I dare you to find another guy with the motor and athleticism 6’5 [player_tooltip player_id="814923" first="Derrick" last="Mitchell"] has. He only finished with nine points but affects the game in so many ways you can’t call it an off night. He has the length and strength to cover guys bigger than him and out rebound them.

Dylan Kramer will not let anyone out tough this St. Pete squad. He’s a burly undersized four that rebounds well by carving out space. He finishes dives well with quick shots around the rim. The junior came up big on defense by shutting down entry passes.

Miami Norland

[player_tooltip player_id="1055745" first="Marcus" last="Allen"]’s physicals will keep him in the hunt for our top spot in Florida’s 2024 class. The forward is a powerful driver that finishes through contact racking up two and1s on Saturday. He finishes above the rim with power and rebounds like someone his size should. He picked up a steal for a score in transition. As Allen polishes his footwork, he’ll only get scarier as a prospect.

Names of Note: At 6’2 [player_tooltip player_id="709246" first="Carl" last="Parrish"] has the size of a lead guard. He didn’t turn the ball over and the confidence he shot the ball with from beyond the college line points to someone who can hit those shots even if he had an off day in Orlando.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055725" first="Clarence" last="Burts"] didn’t stop moving in this game. He was flying around the court to get to spots for jumpers. He scored ten points, hitting two threes and a couple of midrange jumpers.

Leesburg

[player_tooltip player_id="812626" first="Camerin" last="James"] is a next-level athlete if he’s anything else. At 6’5 he was the team’s primary ball handler. He pushed the pace and displayed a shifty handle no one on Jones had an answer for. He found guys in transition for assists. Though he preferred to go full throttle there were times where he slowed the game down. He’s a good slasher that can control his body for crafty lay ups or floaters. When off the ball, he’s a great cutter that blows through contact.

Jones

Jones plays so well as a unit it’s hard to pick out their best guy. Keishaun Robinson made plays on both sides of the ball throughout the first half to keep them in the game. [player_tooltip player_id="709237" first="Omari" last="Henry"] lead all scorers with 14 points coming off the bench. 6’9 Tyrelle Anderson showed good hands and solid high post footwork pivoting to hit cross-court passes against Leesburg’s zone.

Lake Highland Prep

[player_tooltip player_id="712136" first="Brice" last="Sensabaugh"] is making a claim for a top 5 scorer in the country. He plays great on the big stage, hitting 8 threes in front of a sold-out crowd and a bunch of college coaches that wish they were as lucky as Ohio State that night. Most of those threes came under self-creation where the senior can read his defender to get a shot they can’t affect. He attacks angles, has the strength to play bully ball, and has good court vision. The 6’6 guard scored everywhere on the court during his 36 point masterpiece.

Names of note: [player_tooltip player_id="829444" first="Jah" last="Quinones"] does everything a big guard should. He facilitates the ball, rebounds, and guards several positions. He’s a tough player that’s in every scrum fighting for possessions.

[player_tooltip player_id="814925" first="Jared" last="Berry"]’s 12 points were enough to put him in the 1000 point club. Berry has good speed with the ball in his hands and sets up plays for teammates.

Windermere

[player_tooltip player_id="709255" first="Sean" last="Stewart"] competed his tail off in front of the Duke staff. At 6’7 his athleticism is a shade under freak like. His defensive intensity leads to blocks, steals, and a great show of making Brice work for every bucket. Stewart creates so well out of the high post with fadeaways, face-up jumpers, and floaters. He can take you off the bounce for finishes above and around the rim. He scored 26 points without hitting a shot from deep. The junior plays the game as hard as anyone in the class.

Senior Chris Nurse looks the part. He had a quiet night, but Warner University is getting a guy with wing size that can match up across several positions and not be physically overmatched.

Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge has a bunch of guys that produced on Saturday, but none louder than [player_tooltip player_id="814920" first="Fabio" last="Basili"]. He plays at a ridiculous pace that allows him to get the rim at will. His handle is quick and creates separation without chaining moves together. He gets to the line and has great court vision. He’s a good athlete that blocked several shots at the rim. Just for fun, the guard got hot in the second half from three, hitting four of his 6 threes. Basili is one of the best unsigned lead guards in the country.

Names of note: 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1301787" first="Jalen" last="Reece"] was quiet tonight, but 8 first quarter points showed how well he shoots the ball. He hit two threes off the catch and a smooth pull-up jumper.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1055776" first="Tyler" last="Johnson"] sits at 12 in the state for a reason. He’s an upper-crust athlete that finishes with physicality and lives above the rim. He grabs his fair share of rebounds and gets out in transition.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1163386" first="Tyler" last="Davis"]’ biggest contribution was his defense. At 6’6 he bothers ball handlers with his length and quick feet. He made getting up the court a challenge for Evans.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="712111" first="Lewis" last="Jones"] fits in well with this young core. At 6’6 Jones is a tough, athletic forward that can slash to the rim. A spin move into a layup and a block highlights his night.

2024 Elijah Elliot showed significant body and ball control in his time on the court. His offensive highlight was a face-up fade away and his defensive highlights were blocks.

Evans

[player_tooltip player_id="955607" first="Jyshaun" last="Melvin"] did his thing with 24 points. He’s a quick lead guard with good footwork on his pull-up jumper. He hit a three while using his speed to make plays throughout the game.

Names of note: 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1310893" first="Micah" last="Blackmon"] likes to finish above the rim. He did so with two dunks off vertical. His load up is a little slow but at a listed 6’6 215 he has the strength and size to finish in traffic.

TyJaun Massey didn’t need to score to make an impact on this game. He slowed down lead guard [player_tooltip player_id="1301787" first="Jalen" last="Reece"] as his primary defender.
