Big Shots Southeast Showdown: 2023 Standouts, Pt I

<p>Things heated up this past weekend as a number of prospects put their game on display. Here’s a look at Part I of some standouts in the 2023 class from Big Shots Southeast Showdown.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1225774" first="Brandon" last="Crawford"] | 6’8 Forward/Center | HYB Raps Extreme</h5> <p>Crawford was an impressive name for HYB Raps Extreme as they were quite the competitive bunch at Big Shots Southeast Showdown. He finished with 16.3 ppg on the weekend and made his presence felt on the rebounding and blocking front all weekend long as his squad won the 16U Title game in the event. He took home MVP honors and will be a name to keep an eye on this season over at Irmo High give his length and ability.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="865324" first="Justice" last="Johnson"] | 6’4 Forward/Wing | HYB Raps Extreme</h5> <p>As he develops his all-around game and shows he can shoot the ball, look for his name to grow in the 2023 class in SC. He opened the weekend with 18 points in a solid victory over PSB Elite Charleston and played a key role in their run to the title game. He’s an active prospect on both ends of the floor with nice length and athleticism. He attends Richland Northeast and will to one to add onto the radar.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1172567" first="Elijah" last="Dates"] | 5’11 Guard | PSB Elite Charleston 2023</h5> <p>Dates was an impressive lead guard prospect on the weekend that put together some solid performances on both ends of the floor for PSB Elite Charleston 2023. He’s got nice range on the perimeter that he utilized well to average 24.3 ppg, leading the 16U division on the weekend with his play. He’s an impressive, athletic guard that makes nice decisions with the ball in his hands and makes his presence felt defensively. He’s a prospect to know at Goose Creek High in 2021-22.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1164755" first="Malin" last="Allard"] | 6’2 Guard/Wing | PSB Elite Charleston 2023</h5> <p>Allard was an impressive two-way threat for PSB Elite Charleston 2023 handling the ball on the wing, shooting the ball and rebounding the ball. He showed good poise handling the offense and running the show after getting the ball out of the rim. As he shows he can be a presence on the defensive end, look for his name to grow in the state of SC’s 2023 class.</p> <h5><strong>Kali Carter</strong> | 6’2 Forward/Wing | No Fear</h5> <p>Carter was an aggressive player that showed off his stuff as a top scorer in the division. He finished with 17.3 ppg, second in the division at Big Shots Southeast Showdown. He’s an emerging prospect with nice length and instincts getting downhill and finish through traffic. When he doesn’t have the ball in his hands, he’s roaming the paint and being a presence on the glass. Defensively, he set the tone with his activity and ability to create tipped balls in their press. He’s at Rock Hill High.</p> <h5><strong>Brandon Sanz</strong> | 6’1 Shooting Guard | No Fear</h5> <p>Sanz was impressive on the perimeter, showing his range and ability to create off the bounce as a shooter. He produced 11.5 ppg while showing off his prowess on the offensive end of the floor. He used his length well on the wing as a defender as well for No Fear’s competitive bunch.
