Lee Hardy Lee Hardy 6'6" | SF North Farmington | 2023 State MI 6-6 2023 North Farmington A no frills old school post had an excellent day. The athletic and long frame are what catch your eye initially. Excelled in the three on three portion of the camp. Slipped screens well and dove hard to the basket. Good hands corralled some difficult passes in the pick and roll. The hands and a quick second jump helped him be effective and active on the glass. Wasn’t limited to operating under the basket. Also hit a three. A lot of upside for this projectable prospect.
Jamil Fuller 6-2 2023 Romulus Summit Academy North I first caught this young man in Fort Wayne playing with O3. He showed many of the same skills at Northwood that stood out then. It starts and begins with a flashy but effective handle. Uses it to get to his spots easily. Not just a flashy ball handler. Also dropped a clever behind the back pass in the three on three scrimmages. Good range on the perimeter and converted some very deep shots. Has a lanky frame that makes him appear taller than his listed height. A glider and I mean that in a good way. Just moved different than everyone else.
Isaiah Sewell 6-3 2022 Warren Fitzgerald A bouncy wing who showed his athleticism all day. Made plenty plays above the rim that you wouldn’t expect from his frame. While skinny has long arms. Has a good handle and moves easily around the perimeter. If he wants to play at the next level he is going to need to get stronger. That being said had a good junior season for the Spartans so maybe there is more there than what I saw.
Michael Morris Michael Morris 6'4" | SG West Catholic | 2022 State MI 6-4 2022 Grand Rapids West Catholic To be brutally honest I’m a little surprised that this is the first time I have wrote about this forward. Far from the first time I have watched him but sometimes good performances just slip through the cracks. He is a really good all around player. Scores with ease due to a nice mix of size and skill. Excelled in the three on three portion. Similar to Xander Middleton Xander Middleton 6'5" | SG Monroe | 2022 State MI . Showed an array of pivots and pump fakes that were hard to stop. Got so hot that at one point his team just kept running iso. Part of group leading a hardwood resurgence at a school known for it’s football success.
Evan Honnen 6-3 2022 Homeschool/Lapeer Off the beaten path a little as a homeschool recruit. But showed at Northwood that he can play with anyone. Shooting appeared to be the strength of his game. Had a smooth and confident release from deep. Was automatic but more than just a standstill shooter. Played well in the both the 1 on 1 and 3 on 3 portions of the camp. Did not back down down from anyone and responded well to contact. Also competed hard defensively. Not very familiar with his normal competition level. But he sure fit in with this group.
Class of 2024
Joey Cabana Joey Cabana 6'2" | CG Chelsea | 2024 State MI 6-2 Chelsea (pictured at top of article) Powerfully built wing used his athleticism to compete with everyone at the camp regardless of age. Drives hard to the basket and in an excellent finisher. Not a true point guard but does see the court very well. Is very active on the camp and grassroots circuit. Appears to really enjoy playing and testing himself. Plays with a deep and talented backcourt at Chelsea. Should be battle tested by the time he is a senior.
Trevor Zamarron Trevor Zamarron 6'1" | PG Greenville | 2024 State MI 5-10 Greenville A true point guard already at this young age. Doesn’t have eye popping athleticism and is not very big. But makes this list because he does everything very well. Has the trifecta of skills. Good ball handler, passer, and shooter. Has had a good summer playing with MBA National. If he adds some size and strength could be one of the top guards in what is shaping up to be a good 2024 class in West Michigan.
Tyler Spratt Tyler Spratt 6'5" | SF North Farmington | 2024 State #272 Nation MI 6-3 North Farmington No other way to say it. He didn’t do much to catch my attention early in the camp. Then the scrimmages started. He started shooting. Then shooting some more— and some more. And they kept going in. You get the picture. He shot the ball very well. Has good size already. Could grow into an athletic stretch four. If he’s done growing could be physical at the 2/3 positions. Should form a good duo with the first player on this list.
