Below are some of the 2024 prospects from the DMV that stood out.
2024 Tybo Bailey | 6’3 | Oak Hill Academy
Bailey is coming off a breakout summer with Team Loaded VA and he showcased the type of potential and upside he has this weekend at CP3 Rising Stars Camp. Bailey is currently one of the top prospects in the state of Virginia and will see his name near the number one spot in the next rankings update. Bailey has good size standing at 6’3 who always plays hard when he is on the court. Bailey is an attacking guard that can score the ball at ease at all three levels.
2024 Sincere Barfield Sincere Barfield 5'11" | PG Patterson | 2024 State MD | 6’0 | Parkville
Barfield was a prospect I was very much looking forward to watching this weekend as there has been some chatter about him for quite some time now in the DMV. Barfield caught a lot of eyes during the EBA Summer League and he continued that success this weekend in Greensboro. Barfield has some solid strength to him as a rising sophomore and uses that to his advantage when he is attacking the rim. Barfield plays with a lot of passion and is always looking to make a winning play for his team. Barfield will be an intriguing prospect to watch as the high school season kicks off in the coming months.
2024 Jayden Brown Jayden Brown 6'6" | SF St. Andrews Episcopal | 2024 State MD | 6’6 | St. Andrew’s
I did not get a chance to watch Brown until the second day of CP3 Rising Stars Camp and I am super happy I was able to catch him because I walked away very impressed with the 6’6 small forward. Brown plays with the type of energy you want in a kid and that translates to him playing well on both sides of the ball. Brown has great length to go with his versatility which allows him to guard multiple positions on defense. Offensively he can do a lot because of skillset and size. Expect Brown to have a big year where we could possibly see his name on a national level this time next year.
2024 TJ Robinson TJ Robinson 6'3" | SG Immaculate Conception | 2024 State #163 Nation NJ | 6’2 | Bishop Walsh
The Bishop Walsh product had a very successful weekend in Greensboro during his time at CP3 Rising Stars Camp earning himself a roster spot in the Top 20 All Star Game. Robinson is a lead guard who just transferred to Bishop Walsh. Robinson showed this weekend that he can score the ball at a high level by either shooting it from deep or scoring around the basket. The lefty point guard is a guy that should become a household name in recruiting circles sooner rather than later.
2024 EJ Joyner EJ Joyner 5'8" | PG Peninsula Catholic | 2024 State VA | 5’8 | Menchville
The lead guard out of the 757 made his introduction this summer playing with Boo Williams on the EYBL circuit. This past weekend Joyner really showed how shifty and quick he is as he was able to get to his spots well by beating defenders off the bounce. He is crafty with the ball in his hands and can distribute the basketball at a high level. The Boo Williams program has a long history of success with guard play and Joyner looks to be the next in line for the legendary AAU program.
