Jackson Cooper Jackson Cooper 6'5" | SF Cleveland | 2023 State OR always believed. The tough 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward was a critical component in the victory and the sophomore is continuing to set his sights high for himself and his team.
“I’ve been dreaming about this – getting a ’W’ over Jeff has always been a goal,” Cooper said. “I’m just happy. We just tried to come in and play as hard as we can, get big buckets and get stops and play all of our heart out.”
Against Jefferson, Cooper operated from the high post and showed a variety of offensive skills. When given the chance, he could easily turn and knock down the mid-range jumper but also put the ball on the floor and create going to the hoop. Blessed with a rugged frame that could put on even more muscle, the ceiling is high with his overall potential.
It’s definitely been a season of growth for the young forward. “It’s been kind of weird with no fans and everything, but we just play our hardest every game and give it all we got,” Cooper said. “My game has been getting better, I’m just trying to work every day. I can attack the hole really well so I’m just trying to get more of my shooting up and right so I can score on all levels.”
Cleveland head coach Dondrale Campbell head coach calls Cooper the team’s ’X’ factor and notes that he’s been improving with every game. There’s no doubt Cooper projects as a possible college prospect and that’s overall his personal goal, but it’s definitely early.
“I’m just trying to get an offer,” Cooper said. “Right now I just want to play, get ’W’s, and get a state championship for Cleveland.”
Cooper currently ranks as the #46 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2023 rankings.
