COMMITMENTS
2021 Rock Creek Christian/ DC Premier guard James Gross announced his commitment to Millersville. The 6-foot-3 guard is an absolute steal at that level given his athleticism, toughness and intangibles that he can bring to a program. I had thought Gross was destined for the low major Division I level, but instead he’ll look to have an instant impact for head coach Casey Stitzel in the PSAC.
2021 Parkville guard Montez Dunbar made his commitment to Bryn Athyn. A 6-foot-2 tough-nosed defender, Dunbar should have a chance to find minutes within the rotation rather quickly. He hit big shots for Parkville as they made their run to the final four in the Class 4A bracket before the season was cut short due to COVID during his junior season.
OFFERS
2022 Oak Hill/ Team Durant G Judah Mintz received an offer from Iona head coach Rick Pitino. Mintz just concluded an unofficial visit with Georgetown and is set to take an official visit to Penn State this weekend.
2022 Good Counsel/Team Takeover guard Dylan Williamson Dylan Williamson 6'0" | CG Good Counsel | 2022 State MD received an offer from Towson. The 6’1 guard has played significant minutes for Team Takeover this spring and has shown growth in his ability to impact both ends of the floor.
2023 St. Frances/ Team Durant guard Jahnathan LaMothe received offers from Penn State and DePaul. The Nittany Lions were active in offering the 2023 prospect pool yesterday and became Lamothe’s second program in the Big Ten to extend an offer. DePaul recently welcomed former Maryland assistant coach, Bino Ranson, to the staff. Ranson has a known relationship with kids in Baltimore and wanted to make Lamothe a priority as being the first prospect from the city that he extended an offer to.
2023 St. John’s DC/ Team Durant forward Amani Hansberry Amani Hansberry 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State #52 Nation MD picked up an offer from Penn State. The brute 6-foot-8 big man has put together some impressive performances throughout the spring and come June 15, should see many more programs get involved with his recruitment.
2023 Loyola/Team Melo forward Gavin Walsh Gavin Walsh 6'7" | PF Loyola Blakefield | 2022 State MD received an offer from UMass. This is Walsh’s first offer to date, but it’s important to note that said offer is for 2023. Technically Walsh is staying at Loyola and remaining in 2022 for this season to evaluate what offers he may gain for 2022 before deciding if he’ll reclass to 2023 and do a post-grad prep year.
2024 DeMatha/Team Takeover wing AJ Swinton AJ Swinton 6'6" | SF Bishop O'Connell (VA) | 2024 State #134 Nation VA received his first Division I offer from Howard. The 6-foot-7 rising sophomore has great size and versatility for his age and I’d expect once the live periods in July come, more programs will look to get involved early with Swinton.
