The pandemic certainly forced some prospects to move around due to season uncertainty. Others are just seeking a better opportunity to face elite competition.
Here is another rollout of kids playing at new programs…
Adren Roberts Adren Roberts 6'5" | SG Somerset Canyons | 2022 State FL – North Broward Prep (Somerset Academy Canyons)
2022 Adren Roberts Adren Roberts 6'5" | SG Somerset Canyons | 2022 State FL is a bit of a Swiss Army Knife that can play and defend multiple positions. The 6-foot-5 Roberts could comfortably contribute between the 2-3. You could call him a “wing” for now depending on where he lands moving forward. He is definitely a kid that will bog down and take charges while grabbing a high volume of rebounds. Roberts could average a double-double for North Broward Prep next season. I think he could pile up transitional opportunities with his athleticism over in Coconut Creek. He is probably a low-major or high level D2 player at the next level. Roberts recently picked up an offer from Emmanuel College (GA). He plays for Team Judah Nation. You can check out some of his highlights by clicking here.
Jamai Hager-Tejada Jamai Hager-Tejada 5'10" | CG Mater Lakes | 2023 FL – TBD (Mater Lakes Academy)
2023 combo guard Jamai Hager-Tejada Jamai Hager-Tejada 5'10" | CG Mater Lakes | 2023 FL is basically a “free agent” right now. The 5-foot-10 prospect spent his first two seasons playing for the Bears over in Hialeah. I fully expect him to follow Lance Tejada Sr., who was let go by Mater Lakes Academy, to his new destination. Where that will be is still up in the air. I think Hager-Tejada works really well as a two guard with his ability to shoot the ball from deep. He can also take it to the rim with his aggressive nature. I have seen him put his team on his back and score in bunches. Hager-Tejada averaged 18.6 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the floor as a sophomore. Moreover, he knocked down 30 3-pointers for the Bears. He should only get bigger from here; which should strengthen his overall finish at the rim. This should be noticeable in particular when he takes on contact. I think you can expect other kids on last year’s team ( Anthony Floyd Anthony Floyd 5'7" | CG Hallandale | 2023 FL /Kareem Barnett) to join him. I really like Floyd’s handle and quickness as a point guard. He plays much bigger than his 5-foot-9 listing. I think this is evident when he uses his body to score on layups. Floyd avoids his shot being blocked by how he contorts his body in the air. The 6-foot-4 Barnett can really fly and is one of the more athletic players I have seen in person. He is a transitional nightmare that will finish above the rim if left untouched.
Anthony Knowles – Mater Lakes Academy (SLAM!)
2025 Anthony Knowles is a player to watch after playing significant minutes for the Titans last season. The 5-foot-8 guard averaged 11.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Moreover, Knowles reached double-figures in six contests and has a shot from deep. Knowles went 13-of-35 (37 percent) in nine games. Against Sagemont, he scored 14 points and went 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. I think Knowles should really develop as a ninth grader. I also believe 2024 Christian Reid Christian Reid 6'5" | SF Mater Lakes | 2024 State FL is on the move here. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 15.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for SLAM!. I am really interested in seeing him play more and against better competition. Reid has a lot of size and has put up numbers thus far in his young career. He posted seven double-doubles last season.
