This is our fourth installment in the series, make sure you check out the other positions as well. In this article we’re going to be looking at PF’s who had impressive Spring’s and saw their ranking improve based on their play.
Chase Garito Chase Garito 6'8" | C Brecksville-Broadview Heights | 2023 State OH , 6’8 PF Brecksville-Broadview Heights 2023 TNBA -Ohio 16U: Garito was a player I’d never seen live before this spring and he instantly catches your eye with his frame. Garito is a physcial forward who is capable of playing either PF or C. Garito and Tyler Ganley Tyler Ganley 6'2" | CG Brecksville-Broadview Heights | 2022 State OH could be one of the more underrated 1-2 punches in NEO next season. TNBA -Ohio 16U made a run to the title game at the Bill Hensley Run-N-Slam in the gold bracket, falling to All Ohio Red in the title game. Garito is one of a few scholarship level prospects on that TNBA team, I’d imagine colleges make an effort to see them this July.
Kaleb Schaffer Kaleb Schaffer 6'5" | PF Bishop Ready | 2023 State OH , 6’5 PF Bishop Ready 2023 Ohio United: I’m not sure any prospect had a game this summer that made me go, who is this kid, more than Schaffer against the Mid Ohio Pumas . Schaffer was scoring in every way imaginable, from the post, offensive rebounds, pull-ups and 3-pointers, it was a dominating performance. I didn’t remember him making much of an impact at the one Ready game I attended last year, but if that game is anything like he’s gonna play, I expect him to be one of their key pieces next season.
Cameron Grant Cameron Grant 6'5" | PF Saint Edward | 2023 State OH , 6’5 PF Saint Edward 2023 Ohio Basketball Club 16U: Grant has proven himself a solid stretch 4 against two shoe circuit teams in C2K and Indiana Elite in two of the games I’ve caught of him this spring. Grant has a quick release and does well in pick and pop situations and can even run off screens off ball. I don’t remember Grant getting much action for Saint Eds last season but he could play a solid role as a Junior.
Kaid Carpenter Kaid Carpenter 6'4" | PF Fredericktown | 2023 State OH , 6’4 PF Fredericktown 2023: Carpenter is a small town prospect that had a big year in the KMAC with Fredrericktown and Centerburg battling it out for the conference title. Carpenter can space the floor from the PF position and looked like a capable athlete against Harvest Prep in the playoff game I caught of his. I’d bet on Carpenter receiving some solid Division III interest by his senior season.
