Hustle In The Sun Recap: Bucket Getters

<p>The Prep Hoops Circuit returned to the Valley of the Sun this weekend for the Hustle In The Sun The event which featured 65 teams ranging from 15U to 17U took place at Inspire Courts in Gilbert Arizona. Several players showcased their ability to put the ball in the basket. In this article, we take a look at some of the top Bucket Getters from the event.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1183311" first="Vari" last="Hogan"] <em>5’11 SG AZ Phenoms 2023</em> - Hogan is one of the quietest scorers on the circuit. He has put up numerous 20 point performances, and this weekend was no different. He is a natural scorer, capable of knocking down open shots or creating for himself. He has been one of the most consistent buckets this Spring Circuit season. </p> <p><a class="pn-player-link" href="https://prephoops.com/player/brayden-gant/"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="937184" first="Brayden" last="Gant"]</span></a> <em>6’4 SG AZ Junior Ballerz 2023 (#74PHA 2023)</em> - Gant took turn up to a whole new level. His ability to play downhill was nice. He got to the rim at will and was able to finish in traffic. He’s more of a scorer than a shooter, however, Gant did manage to make his share of open shots. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1076700" first="Exodus" last="Ayers"] <em>6’2 SG ABC New Mexico 2023 (#3PHNM 2023)</em> - Ayers is a natural scorer that was able to finish in transition and create for himself. He played with a quick burst, allowing him to get past the initial defender. Ayers also showed a solid mid-range game, pulling up at the free-throw line and burying jumpers from there throughout the weekend. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1193883" first="Erik" last="Crispin"] <em>6’1 SG The Legion of Hoops 2024</em> - Crispin is the perfect embodiment of this list. He is a natural scorer, and his ability to get to the rim can best be described as unique. He’s one of those players that’s so slow he’s fast. The 6’1 guard used a series of hesitation and stop and starts to glide by defenders on his way to the basket. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="937187" first="Carter" last="Gittens"] <em>6’5 SF The Factory 2023</em> <em>(featured image)</em> - Throughout the weekend, I kept calling Gittens "The leading scorer on the Hustle Region Circuit" I’m not sure if that’s accurate, but the guy certainly gets buckets. He was good in transition, getting out ahead of the defense and finishing, and he was managed to manufacture buckets down low with his offensive rebounder.
