The top 6 in this class is VERY strong. Rayvon Griffith Rayvon Griffith 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #78 Nation AZ holds down the top spot, as the 6’6 wing helped lead Taft to the final four. He’s the clear top prospect in the state and should have blue bloods offering him soon. The next group of five players are all pretty close. Lawrent Rice Lawrent Rice 6'4" | PG Huber Heights Wayne | 2023 State #184 Nation OH really expanded on his perimeter scoring game. Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'7" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #81 Nation OH really developed as a player, his patience and polish is incredible for his age. Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #166 Nation OH is a guy I haven’t caught since the NEO Spotlight top 20 combine, so seeing him with the Ohio Buckets is a priority. Chico Johnson Chico Johnson 6'2" | SG Toledo Central Catholic | 2023 State OH had a very solid season for Toledo Central Catholic, I love his maturity and size. Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH helped lead Centerville to a state title, he shouldn’t be ignored due to his lack of size and athleticism. Dude can flat out get it done on both ends.
Along with Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #166 Nation OH , there’s a decent amount of intriguing bigs in this class. Darius Stratford Darius Stratford 6'8" | C St. Vincent-St. Mary's | 2023 State OH and Tyler Williams Tyler Williams 6'8" | C Brush | 2023 State OH are two of NEO’s best, while Chase Walker Chase Walker 6'8" | C St. Charles | 2023 State OH and Ja’Vaughn Jones Ja’Vaughn Jones 6'6" | C Toledo Whitmer | 2023 State OH are in that next class.
Finally, Carson Browne Carson Browne 6'8" | C Elder | 2023 State OH , Cole Rhett Cole Rhett 6'7" | C Bishop Watterson | 2023 State OH , Aamir Rogers Aamir Rogers 6'6" | C Fairfield | 2023 State OH and Jesse Hayes Jesse Hayes 6'7" | C Padua | 2023 State OH are all at different stages of their development, but each center prospect is intriguing.
While some prospects haven’t really gotten the chance to shine at the HS level just yet, seeing guys like Sam Walker Sam Walker 6'7" | PF West Carrollton | 2023 OH , Nathan Dudukovich Nathan Dudukovich 6'2" | SG Lakota West | 2023 State OH and Bede Lori Bede Lori 6'2" | SG Caldwell | 2023 State OH put up impressive numbers during their sophomore season helped boost their stock.
Southeast Ohio sees two of their top prospects in this class, Kyler D’Augustino Kyler D’Augustino 6'1" | CG Albany Alexander | 2023 State OH and Cyan Ervin Cyan Ervin 6'4" | SF Wellston | 2023 State OH are both small school prospects that you should know.
Dublin Jerome could have a special 2023 class with Ryan Nutter Ryan Nutter 6'3" | PG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , Lachlan Robert MacDonald Lachlan Robert MacDonald 6'1" | SG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH and Luke Kuhlman Luke Kuhlman 6'4" | SF Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH all inside our rankings.
Remember, there’s still a long time to go for each of these prospects. Stay patient with recruiting and prep hoops, we haven’t gotten to see every player in person yet and are doing our best job possible to cover the entire state and every class. The amount of teams and prospects to watch is incredibly long, this is a grind. We hope to have a more conclusive set of rankings by the time this AAU season is over.
