The new 2023 rankings are out.

This season ended up being a short AIA season, a full Grind Session season, a condensed CAA season and a longer AAU season with showcase formats.

This 2023 class may be back to normal like the good old days. (We hope!)

We look at the Top-10 PG’s in the 2023 class:

This class is very interesting to me since, many are not well known by the public yet. Some are in smaller schools and some just have blossomed seemingly overnight.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="1077594" first="Chuck" last="Bailey"] Higley

-One of the top players in the class and most have never even seen him. He is physically strong and has great height and length for position. He loves the pull-up from mid off the dribble and is a good passer. He had some monster games during the season including 40 pts vs 6A Basha and 41 vs Dysart. He avg almost 25 ppg and 6 rebs.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="814039" first="Mark" last="Brown Jr"] Mountain Pointe (Pictured)

-A powerfully built undersized guard is fast, tough and fearless. He plays at a good speed and has a nasty pull-up and can hit from the 3. He is strong to defend on the ball.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="1090305" first="Armari" last="Carraway"] Pueblo

-One of the fastest players on the list from end to end. He is a natural scorer with his 21 ppg this season and a sneaky good passer. He is a pest on the ball defensively and can score from all 3 levels.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="994130" first="Isaiah" last="Kai"] Campo Verde

-A pure PG may be the best passer on the list. He has a good feel for the game and his mind works. He can score it off the pull or catch.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="1150195" first="Brigg" last="Wolfe"] MTV

-A bigger PG has a nice court vision for himself. He took the reigns on an older team and led them to a playoff win vs rival Mesa. He can shoot it with range and the pull-up is his best move currently.

6. [player_tooltip player_id="1168771" first="Nait" last="George"] Dream City

-Another unknown guard is extremely shifty and skilled. He can create separation from his defender and shoot it plus make plays for others.

7. [player_tooltip player_id="831121" first="Kota" last="Benson"] Baboquivari

-A scoring lead guard has a happy medium with putting the ball in the hole and making his teammates better. The lefty is another who is one of the better passers on the list.

8. [player_tooltip player_id="1060734" first="Andy" last="Mora"] Tri-City

-Once again another not on everyone's list of names, is the small school stud Mora. He was POY in the CAA and his understanding for the game, ability to change speeds and skill is next level stuff. He is deceptively quick and shoots it easily.

9. [player_tooltip player_id="831128" first="Ryan" last="Ginsberg"] Desert Mountain

-A scoring lead guard will get the keys to the Wolves engine next season. He is smart, crafty and skilled. He has a nice pull-up from mid to the 3 and decent size to get inside.

10. [player_tooltip player_id="814517" first="Cohen" last="J Gonzales"] Mesquite

-Arguably the best shooter on the list. He had six games of 4+ threes made including 31 points vs Combs with five made and six vs ALA-QC with 25 points. His feel for the game is really high. Don't let his height fool you. He rises high off the ground with a super fast release and is athletic and tough on D.

5 others:

1. [player_tooltip player_id="1066516" first="Jordan" last="Voorhees"] Pusch Ridge

-A fast guard with a nice handle. He loves getting downhill but has range on his jumper way beyond the arc. He uses his tight handle to get passed his defenders and is a very good pick and roll decision maker and passer.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="1032530" first="Vincent" last="Tedeschi"] Moon Valley

-Another shifty ball handler with good speed. He can score it from the perimeter and make plays for others. He was already one of the best players on the team this season. He scored 28 vs Estrella Foothills from all 3 levels but his defense makes him a tough two-way player.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="831123" first="Isaac" last="Kaps"] Highland

-A smart and tough lead guard who will defend. He is sneaky athletic and a good decision maker. He loves the mid-range jumper off the dribble and is a capable deep shooter who likes to get inside.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="814507" first="Davion" last="Butler"] McClintock

-A quick, fast and tough undersized guard. He was already the team leader as a soph guiding his younger overall team into the playoffs. He hits big shots and has no fear of being the guy.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="1005723" first="Anthony-Lamar" last="Wilcox"] Maricopa

-Another gifted undersized guard can score it effortlessly. He has real range on his jumper near the volleyball line and had seven game of three or more made 3's including five vs Dobson with 20 points scored. He can find the open man and keeps growing a little every year.
