On Saturday April 12th I attended the Nothing but Net Spring Showcase at Sunnyslope HS hosted by Dinos Trigonis. It was a unique event with club and prep teams playing each other making it a rare live period for college coaches to come view the talent.

I spent all day watching the teams on the main court plus one half in the auxiliary gym. These are not prospect rankings. Just how did they do for the 1-2 games I viewed them.

3rd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2561163' first='Semaj' last='Cuyler'] Bella Vista CIA Supreme

A bigger combo guard is a natural scorer but can make players around him better. He is a very good passer up the court and will fill it up. He will score with pull-ups from mid to the three point line, quick spin moves and consistently putting pressure on the defense to contain him.

[player_tooltip player_id='3460576' first='SJ' last='Baillou'] Bella Vista Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2867224' first='Phoenix' last='United'] 15)

A good sized wing forward with some athleticism is a two-way player. He will block shots in and out of his area, plus he is a great rebounder with a motor to compete. He will score with downhill drives and threes off the dribble or catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146239' first='Carsyn' last='Dean'] Ironwood ([program_tooltip program_id='2867224' first='Phoenix' last='United'] EYCL 17)

I only watched one half but Dean had a nice offensive display filling up the scoreboard. He showed off his deep three point range with a quicker trigger and he will get a step on his defender to the basket. He will also then play off of two-feet and fall away from mid-range. He is in line for a huge season next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435389' first='Justin' last='Johnson'] AZ Compass Prep Grind

A hyper athletic wing forward who may be THE top athlete in the class locally. He runs the floor with the best of them and plays way above the rim on the break. He will score it with mid-range pull-ups, tough floaters in the lane and clean the glass with put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490241' first='Elijah' last='Summers-Livingston'] AZ Compass Prep Grind

A power forward who has good size, length and twitch. He dunks the ball with power and meaning and grabs rebounds in and out of his area. He will score it inside with his quick springs up and/or earn trips to the free throw line. He is the top defensive power forward left in the class from AZ.

[player_tooltip player_id='2574808' first='Ruach' last='Gony'] Bella Vista CIA Supreme

An athletic power forward who brings energy and athleticism to the floor. He is a big time rebounder in and out of his area and he is super fluid to close out to shooters and even block their shots. He springs up in a blink of an eye and will dunk it effortlessly plus step out and shoot the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2552772' first='Tre' last='Terry'] Hamilton (Compton Magic 16)

A bigger combo guard seems to grow by the month. He looked like he was pushing six-four and he is slowly getting more and more athletic. He will score with threes off the catch, mid-range pull-ups and he can get hot very quickly from the perimeter. He is also very good on the ball defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276224' first='Tre' last='Wilkins'] AZ Compass Prep Grind

A tough combo guard with skill and a big IQ. He knows when to facilitate or score it. He will score with mid-range pull-ups, step thrus in the lane, ball fakes to the basket, threes off the catch and brings big confidence onto the court. He also digs in on defense with his toughness.

[player_tooltip player_id='3593547' first='Cesaire' last='Yenan'] Bella Vista Prep (AZ Unity 17 EYBL) (Pictured)

A newcomer for me is a massive post player who is pushing 240. He is a tad raw but throws his weight around deep in the paint. He will score with hook shots, dunks and he is a strong two-handed rebounder and keeps the ball alive on the glass. He runs the floor and has natural upside.
