On Sunday April 13th I attended the 3Stripes Gold West Session 1 at West Point HS in Avondale. I watched many Arizona teams but also viewed teams from Alaska, Oregon, Montana, California.

Here were the Top Scorers Viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='2550840' first='Austin' last='Turner'] Perry ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 16) (Pictured)

A true point forward with athleticism is long and lean. He is unique as he plays like a point guard with next level court vision and will find teammates in stride. He will score with downhill takes using his handle and he can shoot it with deep jumpers off the dribble. He stays on the floor with his ability to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986833' first='Noah' last='McKinney'] Pusch Ridge (O3 17)

A scoring guard showed he can play both sides of the ball. He will play the passing lanes to collect steals and get on the glass with his bounce for offensive rebounds. He will score with advanced body control and can take a bump to the basket. He will also throw it up the court to make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2680984' first='Jayden' last='Lee'] Hamilton (UH Elite 16)

An intriguing long term prospect is a wing forward who runs the floor well. He is very fluid in space to defend and has great length and timing to block shots. He will get downhill and score it in traffic and he has the ability to defend a few positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2949469' first='Zane' last='Graham'] Paradise Valley ([program_tooltip program_id='2206843' first='Phoenix' last='Runnin' Rebels'] 16)

A neutral scorer from all three levels who can play and defend multiple positions with his go-go gadget arms and natural athleticism. He has great hands to catch tough passes in traffic to score and he will hit the three off the catch, glide in the air for layups and he is a quick second and third jumper to score on put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2481070' first='Kyan' last='Dupree'] Red Mountain ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 15)

A newcomer for me is a long point-forward type with a unique game. He will play and defend multiple positions and is just figuring it out. He will score with rip thrus using his tighter handler and burst to the basket but also has the feel and court vision of a lead guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2724507' first='Preston' last='Bauer'] Notre Dame Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2206843' first='Phoenix' last='Runnin' Rebels'] 16)

A versatile true inside and out wing forward who can slide over and play the 2-4 for his team with his size and skill. He is a good rebounder who will score on put backs and will roll to the basket off of the p/r to score but then will also step out and shoot the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435389' first='Justin' last='Johnson'] AZ Compass Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 17)

A world class athlete who is a top of the food chain leaper. He is a natural wing forward who dunks it way above the rim. He runs the floor like a gazelle and the southpaw will get to the basket, shoot it from mid-range and hit off the catch threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146291' first='Jake' last='Steele'] Hamilton (AZ Gremlins 17)

A versatile wing forward who is another who can play the 2-4 for his club and HS teams. He will score with dribble drives by his initial defenders, mid-range pull-ups and he has a sharp hesitation and then will burst to the rim. He plays the passing lanes to defend and gets on the glass. A nice glue player on any team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986797' first='Jase' last='Benjamin'] San Tan Charter ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 17)

A powerful forward is one of the strongest players in 2A and in the AIA. He will score with and-1's inside and almost seek the contact. He is a great rebounder in and out of his area and defends well in space. He tried to dunk over a defender as he is slowly getting his bounce back prior to his injury.
