We are going to skip over the players in the Top 10 of the class since those players have already been broken down in our Top 10 article.
Justin Becker Justin Becker 6'6" | SF Robertson County | 2022 State KY , Robertson County – Justin is having a very strong season but rankings are based on college potential more than stats and Becker has to show he can guard athletic wings and forwards to reach that D1 level. Worst case scenario, he projects as a high D2 player. He’s shooting nearly 70% from the field this year while posting 28 points per game but his three point shooting is a little down this year. If he can shoot the ball better this AAU season, he’ll be back in the top 10 soon.
Jackson Twombly Jackson Twombly 6'7" | PF Woodford County | 2022 State KY , Frankfort – Another small school player having a huge season statistically, Twombly is a lot like Becker. Jackson has transformed his body in the last couple of seasons and has become leaner and more athletic. He too will have to show he can guard more athletic players to raise his ceiling as a recruit but Twombly already holds a couple of D3 offers and a Juco offer so his recruiting is off and running.
Aden Nyekan Aden Nyekan 6'5" | SF Barren County | 2022 State KY , Barren County – Aden’s season was cut short with a partial ACL tear after a couple of games but he was off to another strong start before his injury and he hopes to be back this summer. Nyekan was putting up 18 points and 6 rebounds per contest before he was hurt and was shooting the ball well. He is a D1 athlete without question but needs to show improved skill and outside shooting to get those type of offers.
Bol Kuir Bol Kuir 7'3" | C Belfry | 2022 State KY , Belfry – The biggest man in the state, Kuir immigrated to Belfry over the summer and is averaging 13 points and 12 rebounds in his debut season. At 7’3, Bol is a high level rim protector who can cause a lot of problems for opponents, especially in the mountains where he is the tallest player by a foot or more every game. He’s one to track this AAU season as his size is going to draw the eyes of coaches.
Tucker Blanford Tucker Blanford 6'6" | SF Bullitt East | 2022 State KY , Bullitt East – One of the biggest risers in this update, Tucker has really emerged in the last 6-9 months. He’s got good positional size but one of his best attributes is his motor. Blanford is a blue collar worker who does all the little things for his team and would run through a wall for a win. Putting up 16 and 11 per game this season, Tucker should be a scholarship level player in college.
Other Names to Know:
Robby Todd Robby Todd 6'7" | PF Madison Central | 2022 State KY , Rowan County – Robby’s transfer from Dunbar has been huge for him as he is able to play through mistakes. He’s grown and added bulk also.
Trent Edwards Trent Edwards 6'8" | PF George Rogers Clark | 2023 State KY , George Rogers Clark – Edwards has big time potential. He needs to continue improving his shooting and overall skill level.
Ben Michel Ben Michel 6'6" | PF South Oldham | 2022 State KY , South Oldham – Michel has had a much bigger role this season for a rebuilding South Oldham team. He has potential as a floor stretching big.
Ian Hart Ian Hart 6'7" | PF McCracken County | 2023 State KY , McCracken County – Solid is the perfect word to describe Hart. He does a little bit of everything for his team and can score all over.
Sam Powell Sam Powell 6'7" | PF Oldham County | 2022 State KY , Oldham County – At 6’7, Sam is a really good shooter. He has to get more active as a rebounder but his skill level is very high.
