Led by Senior Guard & Current UNCP Guard Jordan McNeill Jordan McNeill 6'1" | CG Lumberton | 2020 State NC , they took home the 4A East Championship and were named Co-State Champs. The team loses multiple seniors so of course there will be some holes to fill but there are a few players who we feel will have good seasons for the Pirates.
Senior Guard Charlie Miller Charlie Miller 6'0" | SG Lumberton | 2021 State NC has had one of the best offseason out of all the players on his team. He’s been able to showcase his shooting ability at a high level and has gained some college interest due to his level of play. Look for him to be one of the players that takes on more of a leadership role this season.
Senior Forward Matt Locklear was outstanding during his time at the 9 Dime Fall League before he went down with a knee injury. His scoring and rebounding earned him the nickname “Mr. Double/Double” as he played very well in the paint against player that may have been taller. The difference in his game is that he plain and simply will not allow himself to be outworked by anyone.
Senior Guard Jadarian Chatman was one of the players that didn’t have the stats that would jump out at you but his overall impact on games was evident. Whether it was coming up with a big defensive stop or running the team and being a facilitator, he was big for their success all year long.
Sophomore JB Brockington will be a player to keep an eye on this season for LHS, he had some moments last season where he showed how good he could be, including a nice performance in the regional championship. With his team losing several leading scorers due to graduation, his number will be called on to produce.
Junior Forward Kenston Skipper didn’t see a ton of playing time last season but he returns as one of the few interior players, so he can expect his number to be called pretty often. Still a raw prospect overall but at 6’4 with a nice wingspan, he has some of the physical tools needed to make an impact.
