While we’re certainly taking things one day at a time, the prospects of high school basketball occurring in the DMV this winter are more promising now than they have been in quite a while. In anticipation of this, we will be rolling out preview content over the next several weeks. Here is a look at the Preseason All-Junior Teams for Maryland Public Schools.

First Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="904678" first="Ifanieye" last="Lewis"]

Lewis is on his way to becoming the next standout player to come out of Eleanor Roosevelt. He will be a difference-maker on both ends.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="777095" first="Bryce" last="Lindsay"]

For Lindsay, a deep three-point shot is like a layup. Increased opportunities should lead to added production.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="904623" first="Trey" last="Thomas"]

Thomas has been a major impact player since his arrival at Wise. Expect another solid year from the talented guard.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="837960" first="Delonte" last="Raynor"]

Fairmont Heights loses some key players in the backcourt from last year, and that means Raynor might be unleashed. He’s looked good during the offseason and appears ready for the added responsibility.

C - [player_tooltip player_id="904679" first="Jacory" last="Wilkes"]

Wilkes is a powerhouse who has become a forceful paint presence that SMAC foes will not enjoy matching up with. Expect him to move bodies and potentially tear down one or two rims throughout the season.

Second Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="904659" first="Sammy" last="Scott"]

Scott is a reliable presence in the Milford Mill backcourt. We’ve come to expect consistency as his calling card.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="837926" first="Amir" last="Dade"]

Dade’s credentials make him a lock for this list. As in the past, his play will be an important factor in the ultimate success of St. Charles.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="904653" first="Mikhai" last="Arnold"]

Arnold is one of many talented guards in the local 2022 class from PG County. He’s been a starter at Douglass since his freshman year and has gained so much valuable experience.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="954833" first="Larry" last="Bulluck"]

Bulluck would be an interesting bet to lead the state in scoring this year. He’s got the physical tools and skillset to do it.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="837955" first="John" last="Thomas"]

Thomas was an All-City Second Team performer last year at Patterson. He’s going to play a key role once again so you have to think he has a good chance to make the first team.

Third Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="837969" first="Iyan" last="Johnson Jr."]

Johnson quietly put together a solid sophomore campaign at Kennedy. He’ll be in line for at least an encore.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="904662" first="Ryan" last="Archey"]

Archey established himself as a fixture in the starting five for Coach Rob Garner at Gwynn Park. The first impression he made last year at the DMV Tip-Off was tremendous, and he’s been able to run with that momentum.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="954832" first="Jeff" last="Womack"]

Womack might be unknown in most recruiting circles, but he might ultimately change that. He certainly had some bright moments as a sophomore at Bowie.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="904665" first="Derrick" last="Key"]

Key will make his presence felt every time he hits the floor because of his energy. He’ll serve as a useful building block at the heart of Coach Chuck Henry’s lineups.

C - [player_tooltip player_id="904632" first="Adam" last="Walden"]

Walden brings a physical inside presence that we’ve become accustomed to seeing at Poly. He’s improved considerably over the years and expectations are high.
