Select Basketball hosted the Treasure Valley September Classic over the 9/18-9/20 weekend. Several Northwest based programs made the trip to play in what turned out to be a really solid event across the board. FOH Seattle is one program that has played a bit less than some others and I had the opportunity to watch their 17u team just for the second time and it was my first time being able to see the 15u squad. I came away very impressed with the short-handed roster that the 15u team showed up with. They finished 4-1, suffering just a single one point loss playing in the 16u division.

2023 6’3 CG [player_tooltip player_id="923133" first="Alex" last="Yu"] (Bellevue HS) has got to be one of the most unassuming players in the state, but he is a player. He is strong, quick and has a good handle in open court. He can finish with skill using either hand and he is also a very high IQ basketball player. The pull up jumper was also on full display. He is a college prospect that colleges are going to grow to know.

2023 6’2 SG [player_tooltip player_id="923110" first="Andrew" last="Gooding"] (Bellevue HS) is a high school teammate of Yu and they should be a strong 1-2 combo for years to come. Gooding is an aggressive lefty that also possesses a very high IQ and feel for the game. Some his passes this weekend to cutters were next level and he plays with his head up looking to make the right play. His jumper has also come along!

2023 6’9 [player_tooltip player_id="1052463" first="Gavin" last="Marrs"] (Ellensburg HS) is possibly the top prospect out of this group and he is just scratching the surface of his potential. At 6’9, he is mobile, has an above average skill set and plays with good energy. Marrs showed the ability to block shots, get deflections and finish above the rim in the half court and open court. A Division 1 prospect in the 2023 class.

2023 6’6 SF [player_tooltip player_id="923109" first="Kelson" last="Gebbers"] (Brewster HS) is a strong body wing that can do a little bit of everything on the court and showed it this weekend. Smooth shooting form from the three line. Gebbers also rebounds well and will only get better as time goes along. He currently holds an offer from Eastern Washington University.

2023 6’2 PG [player_tooltip player_id="1052466" first="Isaiah" last="Carlson"] (Ferndale HS) was a new player I had the chance of seeing and he was strong and sturdy from the point guard position from start to finish. A lefty PG that can get to the lane at will. He draws in the defense and can make plays from the paint. Capable of hitting the outside shot and a lock down defender as well. A stock riser from the weekend!
