2023 Center Cyr Malonga Cyr Malonga 6'10" | C Evangel Christian | 2023 State KY appeared this summer as part of the Louisville Defenders and will be going to school at Evangel Christian in Louisville. Malonga has already been offered by Western Illinois, Georgia, Illinois and Florida State heading into his Sophomore season at Evangel. At 6’10, his AAU director says Malonga is the best big man in Kentucky.
Similarly, Johnny Djema Johnny Djema 6'8" | PF Evangel Christian | 2024 State KY showed up this summer as part of the Defenders program and a member of the 2024 class. Johnny also hails from the Congo and was quick to earn an offer from Western Illinois. Djema is smaller than Malonga at 6’8 but will play alongside Cyr at Evangel Christian.
7’3 Bol Kuir enrolled at Belfry and will be a Junior this season. With his height, Kuir is the tallest player in Kentucky and I cannot remember the last time a 7’3 player patrolled the paint in the Bluegrass state. It remains to be seen if Bol has any skill level or if he’s just tall but 7’3 is going to be a problem to score over for every Belfry opponent.
Joining Bol at Belfry is 6’10 Roman Tut who also will be a Junior this year. Tut has been playing AAU with Kuir as part of the West Virginia Generals Program and having success as a rim running big man who blocks shots on the defensive end. Look for 15th region teams to struggle to score down low against Belfry this year.
