Drinkwater and Daylen Berry Daylen Berry 6'4" | CG Panther Creek | 2021 State NC are two 2021 prospects that should be a lethal combination for Panther Creek in 2020-21. Drinkwater has the ability to score on all three levels and distribute the ball with efficiency. He led the way in assists last season with 4.2 person and also snagged 2.2 steals per contest in 2019-20. He’s a strong two-way threat to keep an eye on in the area.
McCallum Wright | 6’2 Guard/Wing | Ravenscroft | 2023
Wright is a bruiser that likes to play physical on both ends, flying around for blocks on defense and layups on the offensive end. He’s got nice athleticism in open space as well that allows him to finish with authority. He’ll be a young name to watch at Ravenscroft School in the 919 area.
Maxwell Thornton | 6’3 Wing/Guard | Jordan | 2022
Thornton is a versatile prospect at 6-foot-3 that’s slowly figuring out how to be a factor, especially without the ball in his hands. He’s a solid creator in isolation and as his confidence grows as an outside/mid-range shooter, he’ll be one to watch at Jordan High School.
Dawson Edwards | 5’9 Point Guard | Jordan | 2022
Edwards got a ton of experience running the point guard spot for Jordan in 2019-20. He’s a strong guard at 5-foot-9 that’s shown potential as a scorer and a distributor on a consistent scale. He’ll be a breakout prospect to watch as he develops as a decision-maker, look for him to grow as a prospect in the 919 area.
Elijah Thomas | 6’2 Wing/Forward | Hillside | 2021
Thomas is a versatile player at 6-foot-2 to keep an eye on over at Hillside in 2020-21. He’s got nice length and athleticism with his size that he uses on both ends. He returns as their leader in the frontcourt from a season ago after putting up 10.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.5 spg and 1.1 bpg. He was the second-leading scorer behind Trey Crews, who graduated after the season. With departures in the production department, Thomas will be looked upon to play a bigger role entering his senior season.
Carlos Raven | 6’0 Guard | Wayne Country Day | 2021
Raven is a combo guard with a high IQ for making the right play. He isn’t the most athletic guard but he makes up for it with his ability to handle the ball and break down defenders. Defensively, he’s a prospect that gets it done playing passing lanes and pestering the ball. He can score in a hurry forcing turnovers, which is hard to ignore.
Mike Best Mike Best 6'0" | PG Word of God | 2022 State NC | 5’11 Guard | Wayne Country Day | 2022
Best was the third-leading scorer for Wayne Country Day’s squad as they made it back to the NCISAA 2A State Final game. He’s a shifty guard that can find openings for himself and others on all three levels. As he gets stronger and locks in defensively over the next few years, he’ll be one to keep an eye on in the 919 area.
Jay Curry | 5’9 Guard | Wayne Christian | 2022
Curry had a strong sophomore season at Wayne Christian, posting 28.2 ppg to lead a strong group on the hardwood. He’s a small guard with sneaky bounce that he utilizes to get to the rim off the bounce and on the fastbreak. He’ll be a prospect to keep an eye on over the next few seasons for teams in need of a high-energy guard.
