After a year or two of varsity experience under their belts, they are ready to soar. Here are seven who already have the experience to go with their excellent skill set.
R J Green 6”5 JR (2022) IONA PREP HS
Has just completed his second year on varsity. Led the team in scoring at 15.5 ppg. Extremely athletic. Very explosive player. Really quick first step gets him to the rim. He can finish through contact or flush it in traffic. He started to expand his game with an emerging jump shot. Has offers from Manhattan and St. Francis. As well as high major interest. Tobe Awaka. 6”7. JR (2022) CARDINAL HAYES HS
Big guy with a soft touch. Can step out and shoot it or get to the basket. Leading rebounder on the team. Really complete player. Ivy league interest from Harvard and Yale. As well as high major interest. Another player spotlighted in our coming recruiting report.
Latiek Briscoe. 6”1. JR (2022) ST. FRANCIS PREP HS
A big-time talent. Very physical guard. Finishes through contact. Makes it look easy going by defenders. Can pull up and shoot it or step back and drill it. He has all the tools. Improving with his off-hand. Should get a lot of attention this coming season.
Jonathan Medley. 6”5. JR (2022) ST FRANCIS PREP HS
A physically strong presence on the court. A tremendous rebounder and rim protector. A double-double player. Has improved on his shooting. He can now step out and hit the three. Working on his off-hand. A lot of upside to this young player. Colleges should show interest early.
Orlando Wallace. 6”9. JR (2022) IONA PREP HS
Played for Jamaica’s 16 under team. He was hurt in his sophomore year but will be healthy this coming season. Can score with both hands around the rim. A space eater. Very active player. Blocks shots and rebounds the ball. A big man who runs the floor really well. Coach feels he might still be growing. Improving with his basketball IQ in certain situations. NEC and MAAC schools checking in.
Isaac Gonzalez. 6”1. JR (2022) IONA PREP. HS
Shifty player with the ball. Tremendous shooter. Really fast with the ball. A very consistent mid-range and pull up game. Incredible assist to turnover ratio. Working on becoming a more consistent three point shooter. Bryant, Manhattan and mid to high major interest. We will have updates on his recruitment in the coming weeks.
Tariquek Foster. 6”6. JR (2022) CARDINAL HAYES. HS
Excellent frame. High skill set. Has all the tools. Real nice touch from the outside. An extremely high ceiling. A lot of upside. High major interest. Adding muscle and experience is all he needs to continue in receiving high major looks.
