On Saturday I attended the Phhacility Exposure Camp ran by Gerry Freitas this weekend at the Phhacility in Phx.

There were 10 teams of 10 players on each team and each team played 3 games after a series of drills and warm-ups.

Here are some of the 2022 standouts not mentioned already. Many of these players already have colleges reach out to them when they were allowed to:

[player_tooltip player_id="701246" first="Nathan" last="Calmese"] (Mesquite)

-One of the smoothest guards in the state. He plays at his own speed and has an elite burst into the lane with long strides. He can make the 3 with range but he is also all about his team. He is an incredible passer finding teammates at will. He can score the ball many ways but chooses to set the table more often. He is very athletic and can play above the rim. I wouldn't be surprised to see him avg close to 30 ppg next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="826999" first="Andrew" last="King"] (Phhoenix Prep)

-He was the top scorer at the event outside of maybe Ty Ty Washington. He shoots the ball at a high level and is one of the top shooters off the catch in the class, but is more than just a shooter. He is a strong defender and is showing more wiggle to his handle. He can pull-up off the dribble and shoot it from mid-range as he squares to the basket perfectly. He also rebounds the ball well and fights hard plus knows how to move without the ball.

Devon Arlington PG 6’3 (San Marcos-CA) (Pictured)

-The Gamepoint PG from Cali is a good one. He already has a rare college-ready body and gets downhill well with a tight handle. He can bounce off his defenders and put them on his hip and finish. He is an incredible passer and really sees the court. He can make shots from the 3pt line and pull-up off the dribble from mid-range. He is a true PG with great size and toughness that makes plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="827001" first="Will" last="Coates"] (Phhoenix Prep)

-A long face-up forward is becoming way more fluid and is defending better in and out of his area. He handles the ball surprisingly well and moves his feet and tracks the ball inside to block shots at a high level. He can make the 3 with range, rebounds at a good rate and has a high upside. He unfortunately broke his wrist and will be out at least the next month.

[player_tooltip player_id="859643" first="Shane" last="Thomas"] (Centennial-NV)

-The lefty shooter was one of the more consistent performers on the day. He has a nice stroke from deep and gets it off quickly. He can get downhill with a decent handle and can get a little stronger. He made good reads and shot the ball when he was open and didn’t just take bad shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="827003" first="Micah" last="Pierce"] (Phhoenix Prep)

-A high-motored forward is relentless on the glass. He has bigger hands with good length and he is younger than most in class. He has a good second jump to pursue the ball in the air. He is very efficient around the hoop after he gets the offensive rebound. He can step out and make a 3 but works best near the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="701260" first="Logan" last="Pohl"] (Phhoenix Prep)

-The long and tall post player has good weight and moves well up the court. He can face-up and shoot it to the 3pt line and his post-game is coming along. He does need more polish and continue to develop his overall game, but you can’t teach his height and length plus he rebounds well in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id="827022" first="Ryan" last="Vischer"] (Paradise Valley)

-Another long and tall post player. He is a little thinner but he can also make the 3pt shot with some consistency. He rebounds well and moves up the court swiftly. He will need to continue developing, but he is definitely someone college coaches will want to start knowing.

[player_tooltip player_id="701263" first="Orlando" last="Gonzales"] (Phhoenix Prep)

-A natural scorer from all 3 levels is a quick ball handler and shoots it well plus has a polished floater game. He also can get into the lane with an in and out dribble and understands how to change speeds and hesitate to freeze the defense. He also showed he can make plays for others with a few impressive passes.

[player_tooltip player_id="827049" first="Pascal" last="Volz"] (McClintock)

-A pure PG with a tight handle and he makes things look easy. He is very crafty and is a next level passer. He also can pull-up from mid-range and hit the 3. He will be one of the best passers in the AIA next year for 5A.

Jayson Matthews PG 5’9 (Grant-CA)

-A pure PG with elite speed and a video game like handle. He has a very good burst to get into the lane and uses the floater well. His quickness is impressive and once he gets into the lane, he is an outstanding passer and he can thread the needle to his big men plus find his open shooters. He is obviously small but tough, fast, skilled and makes plays.
