COMMITMENTS
One week after receiving his first scholarship offer from Chestnut Hill, 2020 Glenelg Country point guard Noah Charles Noah Charles 6'0" | PG Glenelg Country | 2020 State MD committed. Rightfully so, as the 6-foot floor general will bring scoring balance and IQ at the point guard spot, a position that the Griffins needed to address. His commitment was the first for newly named head coach JJ Butler.
OFFERS
2021 DeMatha guard Jordan Hawkins Jordan Hawkins 6'5" | SF DeMatha | 2021 State #41 Nation MD received an offer from Wake Forest. Hawkins has been a common name on the weekly recruiting report as his offer list continues to grow. The Demon Deacons are the fourth ACC program to offer along with Louisville, Clemson and Pittsburgh. LSU, Georgetown, Connecticut, Xavier, Creighton are some of the other names who have offered Hawkins. Xavier is the oldest offer of the schools named, with the rest all joining in since early April.
2021 McDonogh wing Jared Billups Jared Billups 6'5" | SF McDonogh | 2021 State MD received an offer from Brown. It marks Billups’ first Ivy League offer despite other schools within the conference holding interest in the 6-foot-5 versatile wing. Bucknell, UMass-Lowell, Bryant, Mount St. Mary’s and Loyola (MD) are the other schools who have offered Billups.
2021 St. Mary’s Ryken point guard Devin Ceaser Devin Ceaser 6'1" | CG St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2022 State VA received his first Division I offer from Merrimack. It comes as a surprise that he only has one offer as he’s proved himself as an explosive scorer who can contribute in other areas as well. We’ll see if this offer leads to others getting involved.
2021 Sidwell guard Ryan Cornish Ryan Cornish 6'3" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2021 State MD added his third offer to date from Lafayette. James Madison and Bryant have also offered the high IQ, 6-foot-2 point guard. Cornish was one prospect that could’ve used a spring and summer platform to help his recruitment immensely.
2022 St. John’s (DC) wing Christian Watson Christian Watson 6'6" | SF St. John's | 2022 State #121 Nation MD was offered by VCU. The Rams are Watson’s third offer stemming from the A-10 Conference with the other two coming from George Mason and George Washington. Howard and Stony Brook have also offered the 6-foot-6 wing who has an excellent frame and high potential as a two-way player.
Abdou Samb Abdou Samb 6'8" | C Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD picked up his second offer this month, this time from Towson. Southeastern Louisiana offered a couple of weeks ago while Mount St. Mary’s and Stony Brook extended offers to the 6-foot-8 forward last summer. Samb’s size, willingness to dominate the glass and potential will have programs continuing to line up.
2022 Archbishop Spalding wing Cameron Whitmore Cameron Whitmore 6'7" | PF Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State #30 Nation MD was offered by VCU. VCU recruits the DMV area successfully and we see why after they extended multiple offers to highly-skilled rising juniors. Whitmore’s stock will continue to rise as programs see him live. A 6-foot-7 wing who can ‘wow’ you with supreme athleticism, Whitmore returned from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for his freshman season and proved to everyone why he was highly anticipated coming out of middle school.
2022 John Carroll sharpshooter Tyson Commander Tyson Commander 6'4" | SG The John Carroll School | 2022 State #203 Nation MD adds another offer to his list, this time from VCU. It brings him to eight total offers and four since the high school season concluded. The other three schools were all from the Big East: DePaul, St. John’s and Xavier.
