Xavier Williams — Ribet Academy
Ribet Academy is filled with exceptional athletic talents, including Xavier Williams. The guard is lengthy for his size at 6’3″ and is one who adds to the Fighting Frogs’ prolific offensive attack with his shooting. With his shooting mechanics, he has a slightly high release point on the shot, which can help when faced with defenders his size or simply in situations where an opponent is charging in to contest the shot. As he continues to work on getting shots off quicker and staying balanced throughout his release, he has the potential to become a consistent serious threat as an outside shooter.
Adam Garza — Capistrano Valley Christian
Adam Garza was a streaky shooter for Capistrano Valley Christian this past season. This was exemplified in performances such as his 19-point showing against Mayfair. He has a smooth release on his shot and works well through his progressions. He can patrol to the 3-point line and become an option from there or step in to charge the basket; his options to attack on offense are essentially limitless. In essence, the guard aims on being a step ahead of his closest defender.
Efficiency and shot selection are two aspects of his game which he must improve on over his senior season, but he has what it takes to further his shooting production even more.
Thomas Oosterbroek — Brentwood
Another capable offensive talent from this section is Thomas Oosterbroek.
The junior produced across the board at a moderate rate, which included a couple of double-doubles. On offense, the 6’5″ forward relies on most of his production from within the painted area. He does very well at getting set in position for a low post duel and attacks the basket with ease whenever a size advantage presents itself in the post. He can hit going from the left or right when in the paint. But when needed, he can extend his shooting range from just outside the paint to also beyond the arc at times. He jumps well into the shot thanks to his fluid release.
Jonathan McCullough — Hesperia
Jonathan McCullough has had a good impact on both sides of the floor for Hesperia, from scoring to pouncing on turnovers. His shooting is one to watch as well. The 6’3″ talent showcased his shooting skill set in performances such as his 25-point showing against Oxnard in the CIF-SS Playoffs. He plays with exceptional pace and speed, which translates over to good shooting situations such as spot-up shot attempts after halting his dribble. He is good when initiating contact and hitting from the baseline. His 3-point shooting form adds to his overall repertoire as a shooter, which makes for a balanced attack.
McCullough is an all-around offensive talent and provides good enough production wherever needed.
