The class of 2020 was loaded and a lot of guys have already chosen where they will continue their career, but many have not. Here we analyze some of the top players in Dallas that are still unsigned.
Adam Moussa – Shooting Guard – Coppell High School:
6’3 starting shooting guard for one of the best teams in Dallas. Moussa ended his high school career on a high note. He competed well against some of the top teams in the state. He helped lead his team to a 29-6 record, back to back district championships, and was awarded the 6A First Team All-District honor. Moussa is a tough unselfish player that is known for his leadership and is willing to do whatever is needed to get the win. He a good shooter with deep range, has an unorthodox shot, but he knocks it down consistently and in the biggest moments. Adam averaged 11 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game and finished as a top 10 assists leader in Dallas. He shoots well across the board with 35% from 3, 83% from the line, and 42% from inside the arch. He always finds a way to affect the game whether it be offensively or defensively. Adam Moussa is a very coachable player that can fit in just about any role and any system.
Donovon Smith – Guard – North Dallas Adventist Academy:
6’2 crazy athletic explosive combo guard that somehow slid under the radar. Smith was a scoring threat every time his hands touched the ball. Incredibly fast and gets up and down the court in seconds. Has crafty ways of getting into the paint without ball screens and can then finish with either hand at the basket or with a soft touch floater. Donovon has serious hops and can play well above the rim; also a decent shooter who will knock down open shots with his sweet stroke. He was the 2nd leading scorer on his team, averaging 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and led the team to a 35-6 record. His top-notch offensive play earned him the district Offensive MVP award. Donovon Smith is a fun player to watch and has a skill set that is more than ready for the college level.
Grant Goosby – Point Guard – Woodrow Wilson High School:
6’0 Goosby got better every single game, from the very first to the very last. Grant is a scoring point guard that does a great job of getting to his spots and making a play for himself. He’s a 3 point specialist with a quick-release jumper that allows him to hit plenty of open and contested shots. He’s a solid defender with quick feet and plays exceptional on-ball defense. Grant Goosby didn’t win many games but when he played he always gave 100%. He was one of the leading scorers on his team with 13 points per game. His game can round out pretty well over time especially on the right team.
Brandon Cotton – Guard – Lincoln High School:
6’2 Cotton is constantly the toughest competitor on the court, what he brings to the table cannot be measured. Brandon is a combo guard with true point guard potential; he has the ability to control the game, run the offense, and facilitate on the court well. One of the best fastbreak players you’ll find. He has a knack for getting open on the break, starting the fastbreak, or finishing it. He’s a capable 3 point shooter especially when given the slightest bit of space; when he lets it fly his team knows it’s going in. Brandon’s best quality is his clutch gene. When a bucket is needed or the game is on the line put the ball in his hands. Brandon Cotton is a very underrated prospect.
Brandon Taylor – Point Guard – Coppell High School:
6’0 starting point for the 13th ranked team in Texas. Taylor played at a high level all year long, offensively and defensively. He’s a lefty with nice form and a deadly 3 point shot, even scored over 400 points this season shooting at a 48% rate. Brandon was the second-leading scorer on his team averaging 11 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds per game; he was also awarded the 6A First Team All-District honor. He’s a leader of men, plays very tough defense, is an efficient shooter, and is a gritty player. With the qualities Brandon Taylor brings to the table, he will for sure be a coach’s favorite at the next level.
Beau Becker Beau Becker 6'4" | SF Woodrow Wilson | 2020 State TX – Power Forward – Woodrow Wilson High School:
6’6 forward that led his team in scoring and racked up double-doubles all season. He made tremendous improvements from his junior season and almost doubled his stats. Beau capped off his season averaging 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. His high IQ creates several open opportunities to spot up and shoot. Not the fastest player but covers ground well in the paint. He doesn’t put the ball on the floor much but still finds a way to put up big numbers and finish around the basket. Becker plays hard on both ends of the court and always finds a way to get a block every game. His low post presence is strong and his offensive post game is solid; he has a consistent mid-range jumper and turn around jump shot. Beau Becker Beau Becker 6'4" | SF Woodrow Wilson | 2020 State TX will be a good fit for any college in need of a low post presence or a stretch 4.
