The Top Ten. Here are the top ten junior prospects that college coaches should get out to see at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic. Chet Holmgren is of course your headliner and is currently fighting for the top spot in the 2021 rankings nationally. Riley Mahlman is a football commit to Wisconsin but he can play basketball very well too. At the moment Andre Gray, Cade Haskins, and Trey Longstreet of Delano (not at the event) are in the battle for the top wing prospect spot in the state (all of them have bright futures ahead) and you can see both Gray and Haskins at the Tip Off Classic. The 2021 class of Minnesota talent is about size. We spoke of Holmgren and Mahlman plus coaches can see rebounding machine Andrew Morgan, low post skill dominator Francis Nwaokorie, and long armed agile Davon Townley at about 6-foot-6 or 6-foot-7.
Chet Holmgren of Minnehaha Academy (1)
Andrew Morgan of Waseca (2)
Andre Gray of Hopkins (3)
Cade Haskins of DeLaSalle (4)
Riley Mahlman of Lakeville South (5)
Davon Townley of Minneapolis North (6)
Reid Patterson of Lakeville South (7)
Francis Nwaokorie of Champlin Park (8)
Kody Williams of Wayzata (9)
Kyree Willingham of Waseca (10)
Wing Athletes. Andre Gray is the top wing athlete prospect int he class. CJ Brown of North and Isaiah Davis of Minnehaha Academy also fall in that category as both have offers from Hampton. The player that the state needs to get to know is long armed and explosive Kyreese Willingham from Waseca (brother Malik is now at Minnesota State-Mankato). The most explosive finisher is likely dunk contest star Zach Spann while the latest names jumping on the scene are Dylan Gichaba and Xavier White, the brother of Royce White.
CJ Brown, Minneapolis North, 6’3 SG
Isaiah Davis, Minnehaha Academy, 6’5 SF
Andre Gray, Hopkins, 6’5 SG

Shooters. At 6-foot-6 with a beautiful shot Cade Haskins is the headliner. He hit six threes last weekend at the Big 12 Classic and is the surging prospect name in Minnesota at the moment. Reid Patterson is a scholarship level QB and SG, he will have a decision to make in the future but right now he’s just a great two sport athlete.
Cade Haskins, DeLaSalle, 6’5 SG
Reid Patterson, Lakeville South, 6’2 SG
Jacob Hennen, Minneota, 6’2 SG
Elijah Morris, Perham, 6’2 SG
Drew Sagedahl, BOLD, 6’0 SG
The Size. Holmgren, Mahlman, Morgan, Nwaokorie, and Townley are all players being looked at by D1 schools at the moment and this doesn’t even include Treyton Thompson (committed to Minnesota and now at a prep school), Will Tschetter of Stewartville, Joshua Streit of Eden Valley-Watkins, and Broden Lien of NCE/U-H. It’s a great year to look for size in Minnesota if you are a place that offers scholarships. So many quality options.
Chet Holmgren, Minnehaha Academy, 7’0 C
Riley Mahlman, Lakeville South, 6’9 C
Andrew Morgan, Waseca, 6’8, PF
Francis Nwaokorie, Champlin Park, 6’7, C
