The all-around 6-foot-4, 180-pound wing finished off an outstanding tournament on Sunday, one in which he put together some tremendous games. While a win didn’t come until their last game, it was a worthwhile experience – one in which Inglesby came away with a new potential college offer.
“It was mostly focused as a team – we thought we could come out here and compete, we just fell short a couple of times,” Inglesby said. “But I thought we played well and we’ll use this as good experience going into league. It’s going to be really important playing these good teams heading into the playoffs.”
Individually, Inglesby had his game on. Against Battle Ground on Sunday he really had things dialed in. In a sizzling shooting performance, Inglesby shot 13-for-15 from the field, 5-for-7 from three in posting 33 points. This comes on the heels of three other rock-solid performances and over the course of the four day tournament, Inglesby ended up scoring a total of 107 points – a 27.5 average.
“Jesse (White) was a little less than normal – he picked it up today – but I tried to get the whole team involved and do what I can for the team,” Inglesby said. “If that means leading in scoring, that’s great, but if that means me dishing to another guy that’s perfect. As long as we score, I score.”
College programs have been watching Inglesby perform at the LSI. He notes that he’s recently been in contact with coaches from Northwest Nazarene and Central Washington, and talks with Oregon State about a possible walk-on spot are ongoing. While at the tournament, Inglesby was also pulled aside by another school who had something special for him as well.
“Yesterday I talked to the Gonzaga coach (Tommy Loyd) and he offered me a walk-on spot at Gonzaga,” Inglesby said. “That’s awesome as my grandpa (Bill Suter) played at Gonzaga and he’s in the Hall of Fame up there. We have big family ties and it’s a special place for our family, so that’s awesome.”
While there’s no doubt Inglesby really liked what he’s heard from the current #1 team in the country, he remains in no rush to make any decisions. “I still want to wait,” Inglesby said. “I might try to go visit up there because I want to see what it’s like – I’ve always to see it. But I want to wait until I know what I want and what’s right. I’m excited.”
Coming off the win, Inglesby is also excited about the rest of the season ahead. The Bruins will get a little rest and then will hit things hard again starting next week. “If you look at the pre-season rankings we play all the top ten teams, and that’s what we want,” Inglesby said. “We want the top competition and it will prepare us for February and March as that’s where our eyes are towards. We’ve just got to keep getting better, better, and better up until then.”
Inglesby currently ranks as the #10 ranked player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
