The 6’1″, 176-pounder called his junior campaign an absolute blast and touch on his senior season so far where his squad is 5-2.
“I learned so much from my coach and teammates. As a junior, I controlled what I could control and wanted to play my role every night. That was me maturing as a player because ideally, players at this day in age want to do what’s best for them; I know I need my team to win games,” Osborne told Prep Hoops. “So far, this year has been a fun experience as a senior. My role now is way different from last year and I feel like I’m adjusting to it. I believe our team can be really good this year as well and we are up for any challenge.”
He suited up for the GPI All-Stars 2020 this past AAU season.
“I’ve been playing with this team since my freshman year and we’ve grown since then,” Osborne said. “I don’t think we wanted our season for AAU to go the way it did because we played fewer tournaments but, everything was a great experience.”
No offers have come yet but he’s drawn interest from Division III programs Pine Manor College, Marietta College, Piedmont College, Curry College, College of Coastal Georgia, Dean College, Medaille College and Marymount University.
He says the coaches like the way he shoots the ball and can spread a defense. They also said they like his playmaking skills and the ability to take charges.
In terms of his top strengths, Osborne pointed to his jumper and two-way game. He says he is working to improve his ability to move without the ball, shoot off the dribble and to be a better on-ball defender.
Look for Osborne to have a steady senior season. I saw him late last month at the Metro vs. FL Challenge and he had a nice 12-point showing in a win over Osceola. Osbourne is a true leader who likes to shoot it and get to the basket and draw contact. He’s vocal and determined and would be a steal for a Division III program with his athleticism and overall mindset on the floor.
