Greenfield playED big in the second half
It was a dogfight in the fourth game of the Millbrook Showcase between Greenfield School and Leesville Road. Greenfield played big in second half to get a solid win over Leesville Road, outscoring their opponent 46-40 to secure the victory in the end, 69-65. They came up with key stops when they needed them thanks to big plays from 2020 guard Creighton Lebo, who came up with some big stops against Carter Whitt down the stretch. It was a grind, but Greenfield found a way to come out on top.
Free throws made the difference for the Knights
Neither team had the strongest days shooting the basketball, but the difference was the Knights’ ability to get to the free-throw line. They shot 31-of-44 (70.4 percent) from the stripe and saw 2020 guard Creighton Lebo go a perfect 8-for-8 while pacing the team on offense with 16 points. If Greenfield made more free throws, their margin of victory could have been a lot larger.
Carter Whitt dominated on offense
2021 guard Carter Whitt had a solid outing for Leesville Road, finishing with 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists. He very well could have finished with a double-double if more teammates converted on the crisp passes he fed them in the paint. He was impressive showing why he’s considered a high-major prospect by many different outlets including PrepHoops.
Dji Bailey showed flashes off ACC potential
Wake Forest commit Dji Bailey showed why he was highly sought after with his play against Leesville Road. He finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks, showing off his length and athleticism. He plays too unselfish at times but when his team needed a bucket, he got to the rim and did what needed to be done. His development will be fun to watch at Wake Forest.
Trey Pittman surpassed 1,000 points
2020 forward Trey Pittman put together a double-double in Greenfield’s win with 13 points and 11 rebounds and with his performance, he managed to surpass the 1,000-point mark for his career. Pittman continues to show why he’s a top unsigned senior forward with his ability to finish around the rim and stretch the floor with his play on the perimeter. He also made two 3-pointers in the victory.
