Jahmai Mashack (Etiwanda, Wing, 2021) Mashack is an elite 2 way player who contributes to his team in multiple facets. Coaches at the next level are sure to love him as he brings the intensity on both sides of the ball. Jahmai is a player who’s not afraid to guard the opponents best player. He plays amazing man defense, stays in front of his defender, and gets a ton of tips and deflections. On offense hes accurate from midrange, and displays range out to the three point line. On Friday night, Mashack scored 24 points against Salesian to help Etiwanda advance to the next round at the Classic at Damien. They will face Sierra Canyon tonight as Mashack’s defense will be on display against the likes of Amari Bailey and Terren Frank.
Ty Harper (Santa Clarita Christian, CG, 2021) Harper might be the best kept secret in SoCal but it won’t be a secret much longer. The 6’4″ combo guard exploded for 32 points in double OT win over Heritage Christian. Harper is an intriguing prospect who brings a bit of everything to the floor. In the summer, Harper was known for his athleticism and his flashy dunks, but now he’s known for his other facets of the game. Most impressive may be his will to get buckets in late game situations. He came up clutch many times against Heritage Christian as all of his 32 pts came in the 2nd half, including numerous game tying and go ahead baskets. An added bonus is his athleticism as he possesses a 40 inch vertical.
David Elliot (Birmingham, G, 2021) A marksmen from deep, Elliot has the potential to catch fire at any given moment. Against Sierra Canyon, Elliot showcased his deep range and ability to shoot off the dribble en route to 22 points. His shooting comes in a plethora of ways as he does a lot of damage with the pull up and catch and shoot. Although he cooled off the 2nd half, he put on a show for media, scouts, and spectators. Elliot also did a good job playing passing lanes and coming up with steals.
Isa Silva (Jesuit, G, 2021) A magician with the basketball. Silva’s greatest strength is his ability to be a floor general. He has amazing court vision, possesses a high IQ, and is a creative passer. Silva is also a crafty scorer who knows how to maximize his dribbling to get to his spots. Against Roosevelt (Eastvale) he showed craftiness around the rim and a feathery shooting touch as he exploded in a 32 point performance.

Harold Yu (Sierra Canyon, Center, 2021) The 7’3″ center from China brings tremendous size. While he displays enormous potential, everyone has always wanted him to be more aggressive and show more attitude. In Friday night’s game against Birmingham, Yu displayed signs of swagger to the delight of the fans. Late in the game, Yu threw down a contact dunk as he was fouled from behind and got in the defender’s face. He also finished the game with a season high of 13 points. Extra mobility and assertiveness with the ball will take his game to the next level. Yu currently has 1 offer from Cal and should gather plenty more as he progresses.
