Pine Forest HS Guard Isaiah Washington: It didn’t take long before he made his way into the starting lineup for the Trojans. You can play him on the wing due to his ability to score but also at the PG as he has good court vision and passing skills. After his first few games, he’s averaging about 18 Points and 5 rebounds a night.
71st HS Forward Derrick Green: It’s rare to see a big man that is comfortable with playing in the post these days but that’s exactly what you get from Derrick. He has a nice post up game, sets strong screens and has been the most productive player for his high school squad.
Cape Fear HS Guard Tremayne Parker: He made his debut this past week and did not disappoint. The athleticism is clearly what catches the attention of many, but overall he’s a solid player with a nice natural feel for the game.
Combine Academy Guard Robert Dillingham: Arguably the top freshman in the state at this point, he has stepped in and led a team that knocked off national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy. The combination of scoring and facilitating that he brings to the table at such a young age makes him special.
Forsyth Country Day Guard Will Gray: We got the chance to see him at the Blue Chip First 48 in the spring and Triad Fall League, leaving impressed with him during both events. The son of a coach, you can see an advanced IQ to go along with impressive athleticism.
Lee County Guard Malachi Mclean: As stated before, we like the potential he has to be a special player over the next few years. He doesn’t allow himself to get sped up and makes plays that young players don’t normally make. One play in particular that was impressive was a off hand pass to his teammates coming off a screen that led to an easy bucket. Plays like that are things you don’t see from a player his age.
