The rangy 6-foot-3, 175-pound wing from McNary High School largely operated under the radar but started to emerge as a clear prospect this spring and summer. Meithof has started to hear from a number of college programs and his goals are high.
Since college coaches could get in touch with the Class of 2021, Meithof has heard from a number of schools. Eastern Washington, Santa Clara, Seattle, Idaho State, Montana, Pacific, and Washington State have all been in contact in some way or another. While much of the interest is still exploratory and he’s waiting on his first offer, Meithof has appreciated all of the interest and remains wide open.
“I’m trying to look for a major D-I,” Meithof said. “I’m just trying to get better to go D-I, but I’d like to go to a college in a hotter area, like UCLA, USC, or some place like Florida. But I just want to go to whoever wants me.”
Playing with All-Around Players this AAU season, Meithof was able to showcase his skills. He’s a versatile scorer who can hit the three but also get to the basket in a variety of ways, and finish strong with his left hand. There’s definitely room for improvement though and Meithof is willing to put in the work.
“I’m trying to work on my defense to get more steals,” Meithof said. “My jump shot also needs a little bit of work. I feel like it’s slowly progressing and getting better, but I’m still working on it.”
