This weekend they kicked off their intramural practices and games. It is a 8 week program that allows players to hone their skills before they begin their fall league. IBALL focuses on developing players and building their character on and off the floor.
I had an opportunity to watch two freshmen from Creekside High School play 5-on-5, participate in drills and showcase their skills.
Caleb Jackson, 2023, PG has a promising high school career ahead of him. The 5’6 guard has the potential to be a true floor general. Jackson pushes the ball and looks to get other players involved. He plays with a lot of confidence, attacks the basket and hustles. I was impressed with his enthusiasm and his dedication to complete drills at game speed. Jackson follows directions well. Being a coachable player will get him a long way toward his development as an athlete. “I came here to get better for my career in high school. I like the conditioning, scrimmages and drills,” said Jackson.
Terrell Stephens, 2023, SG is going to be a serious problem for defenders in the future. His shot release is quick and accurate. I project Stephens to be a sharp shooter we’ll be talking about a few years from now. He’s long and has the ability to separate himself from the defender. Stephens was extremely focused during drills and workouts. He is a player that is eager to learn and has a strong desire to build his basketball IQ. Stephens plays hard on both ends of the court and leaves everything on the floor. “Working with IBALL has been a good experience. I like how they run their program,” said Stephens who has been attending IBALL since he was in middle school.
