1. Johnny Davis – SG – La Crosse Central/Wisconsin Playground Club
Previous: 2
The Wisconsin commit takes the top overall spot with the departure of Jalen Johnson to IMG Academy. A junkyard dog on the basketball floor with explosive athletic ability, Davis and Central could be favored to win the Division 2 state title in 2019-20.
2. Carter Gilmore – F – Arrowhead/Phenom University
Previous: 4
Gilmore verbally committed to Wisconsin as a preferred walk-on. A skilled and versatile point forward that constantly flirts with a triple-double for Arrowhead, Gilmore has upside at the high major level in the right system.
3. Dalton Banks – PG – Eau Claire North/D1 Minnesota
Previous: 5
Whoever gets Banks is going to be better for it. A true point guard that elevates everybody around him, Banks is arguably the best facilitator in this 2020 class. The Eau Claire North star is currently weighing offers from Wright State, Ball State, Cal Poly, Southern Illinois, North Dakota State, Montana, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, and South Dakota.
4. Isaac Lindsey – SG – Mineral Point/ Wisconsin Swing
Previous: 6
Lindsey committed to UNLV in June. Probably the best pure scorer in this 2020 class, Lindsey can fill it up and knock down difficult shots at a high level. He’s improving his ability to attack the rim and generate easy buckets. If Lindsey continues to develop physically and athletically, this could be a steal for the Runnin’ Rebels.
5. Terrance Thompson – PF – La Crosse Central/Wisconsin Playground Club
Previous: 7
We’ve been a big fan of Thompson’s for quite some time and he’s starting to realize his potential. A 6-foot-8 forward who can run the floor, protect the rim, own the glass, and now score inside and out. Thompson has a nice offer list, including Duquesne, Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, Toledo, Bradley, Illinois-Chicago, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Green Bay, but we feel he’s still being under-recruited.
6. Darius Hannah – PF – Milwaukee Academy of Science/All-In Athletics
Previous: 14
Loved what I saw from Hannah at the Prep Hoops Summer Challenge. The Milwaukee Academy of Science forward went toe-to-toe with some really good post prospects and dominated them. The scary part? He’s coming off a torn ACL and still isn’t 100 percent yet. The 6-foot-9 senior has arguably the best upside in the 2020 class.
7. Jacob Ognacevic – PF – Sheboygan Lutheran/Wisconsin Playground Club
Previous: 8
Ognacevic had a breakout month of July and played some of his best basketball against elite competition. A skilled and versatile forward who can create mismatch opportunities, Ognacevic committed to Valparaiso in August. The 6-foot-8 forward will look to end his career with back-to-back state championships for Sheboygan Lutheran.
8. Jordan Davis – SF – La Crosse Central/Wisconsin Playground Club
Previous: 9
Davis committed to Wisconsin along with his twin brother Johnny. The La Crosse Central wing has a chance to be a nice 3-and-D player for the Badgers. Since his commitment, Davis has a whole new level of confidence and will push for a top five spot during the season.
9. Max Klesmit – G – Neenah/Wisconsin Playground Club
Previous: 17
Following a big summer, Klesmit jumped into the top 10. The Neenah standout ripped off a handful of Division 1 offers and eventually settled on Wofford as his destination. After a monster July on the AAU circuit, Klesmit improved his stock as much as anybody in this 2020 class.
10. Caden Boser – Eau Claire Memorial/ Wisconsin Swing
Previous: 12
Boser is still flying under the radar despite being one of the better mid-major level bigs in the Midwest. Illinois-Chicago and UW-Milwaukee are on board with offers, but with Boser’s skillset, he could be a double-digit scholarship prospect. The 6-foot-8 power forward is a terrific 3-point shooter in the pick n’ pop game and handles the ball and moves very well for his size.
