Continue Reading- On the last weekend of the AAU season, many teams are looking to win their last tournament championship, impress Division II, Division III, and NAIA coaches, and (for 17U prospects) make their last travel ball memories. For those attending the On the Radar Hoops “Super 6” showcase, there was plenty of opportunity to do at least two of things as all games were played in round robin format. Even though no one walked away with a trophy, players got a chance to make final impressions on coaches and gain some momentum going to the high school season. These were some of the prospects that enjoyed great weekends and should be under watchful eye for their production this upcoming winter:
Standouts
Griffin Neville- 2020 Griffin Neville (Cherokee Bluff (GA) / Atlanta Timberwolves)
- Neville was consistent in his scoring all weekend long, specifically with his ability to get into the paint and finish on both sides of the rim. He’s a 6’2” floor general is shifty with long arms and sneaky athleticism, displaying his above the rim finishing ability on several occasions. He has a great feel for the game and knows when to get teammates involved, all while averaging over 20ppg in 4 games at Super 6.
- 2020 G Ricardo Wright (The Villages Charter (FL)/ Central Florida Rising Stars)
- Wright was one of several solid prospects from The Villages Charter high school. He is a consistent shot maker who thrives off his ability to make things happen off the dribble and showed his streaky three-point shooting ability as well. Wright has good size at 6’3” and is an athletic off guard that can defend on both ends.
- 2020 F Sola Adebisi (Cambridge (GA) / Reach Higher Kings)
- I love the versatility from the forward out of Milton, Georgia. He stands at a long 6’6” and is a quick leaper which was evident in his finishing and shot blocking ability around the rim. I personally enjoyed Adebisi’s defensive intelligence in his ability to remain on his feet on the interior and only jumping to block or alter shots when necessary. Adebisi recieved an offer from Berry College at Super 6 and he’ll get a chance to reel in more with an increased role at Cambridge this winter after the transfer of former teammate Matthew Cleveland to Pace Academy.

- 2020 W James Little (Shiloh (GA) / Powerhouse Elite)
- Little is a physical wing player that simply makes winning plays out on the floor. Standing around 6’3” with strength and nice athleticism, he made powerful drives for finishes at the rim. He is a player that can rack in a lot of double doubles with his ability to rebound the basketball. He too will have an increased but more productive role with a Shiloh Generals bunch that lost four significant seniors from last year’s roster.
- 2020 G Jovan Tucker (McEachern (GA) / Smyrna Stars)
- Previously at Cumberland Christian, Tucker mentioned he would be attending defending class 7A state champion McEachern this winter. If his performance at the Super 6 showcase is any indication of what is to come, 5-Star point guard Sharife Cooper may have a reliable teammate in the backcourt this season. Tucker is 6’3”, can handle the ball to get to the rim off the dribble, and doesn’t mind the contact on his way there. He can fill it up from the perimeter and his outings of 36 and 25 points during two specific contests showed that this past weekend.
- 2021 G Derrick Harris Jr. (Westwood (GA) / Cam Sports Basketball)
- The junior guard was a consistent three level scorer for Cam Sports. He has a very nice mid-range jump shot a knows how to get to that area off the pick and roll. He has a quick first step when attacking one on one and he keeps defenders off balance with a nice change of pace in his style of play. Harris Jr. can play in any type of game and I believe he will be a guard out of South Georgia that will gain a lot of attention moving forward.
- 2021 G Jarveil Gainey (Trinity Catholic (FL) /1Family)
- Gainey was one of the purest shot makers from the perimeter at the Super 6 showcase. He had multiple games of at least 4 three-point field goals makes and his effortless stroke allows him to hit shots throughout the course of a game. He is a great handler of the basketball and isn’t afraid to get into the paint as well to make plays off the bounce.
- 2021 G Zavien Williams (Windermere Prep (FL) / 1Family)
- Williams, without the skill, would have made this list on his hustle alone; however, his offensive ability to go along with that consistent effort put him in a special category of productive players at Super 6. He played with both the 1Family 16U and 17U teams and you wouldn’t have known he was working overtime had you saw him in action for just one game. He can hit shots all over the floor, defend, and drive the ball when needed.
- 2022 F Jordyn Surratt (Dorman (SC) / Upward Stars)
Jordyn Surratt- Surratt has a lot of upside and will look to be another solid Dorman high school prospect to come along in the 2022 class. At 6’6” he dominated the inside on both ends of the floor while also looking good running, dribbling, and finishing the basketball in transition as well. Surratt can knock down shots as a spot up shooter and that will only get better playing off the ball with impact players like 4-star teammates Myles Tate and PJ Hall commanding most of the attention this year.
- 2022 G Robert Cowherd (Denmark (GA) / Georgia Stars EYBL)
- Cowherd has been a familiar name around the peach state since before he started his high school career. His ceiling has always been high with his size and three-point shooting ability, but he seems to have taken that next step in his game by putting the ball on the floor to finish at the rim. He stands around 6’4” and had a good showing with the 15U Georgia Stars while competing in the 17U division at Super 6. Transferring to Denmark this year from Holy Spirit Prep, Cowherd will have an opportunity to play alongside efficient floor general Sutton Smith which should allow him to do what he did this past weekend.
