The 6-foot-8 Rosado went to Atlanta to Nike EYBL Session I on Friday with zero college offers. Six days later he now holds eight.
“I’ve been playing well,” Rosado said Sunday. “My coaches told me I picked up Georgia Southern, Arkansas State and Toledo. Team-wise, you know, we’re kind of struggling a little bit [0-4]. But we’re going to try and pick it up.”
Rosado, who wears No. 22 and plays center for Each 1 Teach 1, then picked up scholarship offers from FIU, FAU, Hofstra, FGCU and Wofford this week.
His best game in Atlanta was his final game Sunday. Rosado put up 19 points and 9 rebounds in a 95-93 loss to a talented Mac Irvin Fire squad out of Illinois. He shot 7 for 9 from the field and was a go-to priority down the stretch.
“I’ve just been playing my game, playing the low post,” Rosado said. “Just trying to play hard.”
Rosado also had 18 points (7 for 11 from the field) in 21 minutes of a 78-75 loss to Bluff City Legends (Tenn.) and 11 points vs. Playaz Club (N.J.). The only game he was held below double-digits was UPlay Canada when he scored 8.
Rosado finished EYBL Session I 22 for 41 from the field. “Rosado played well,” E1T1 coach Steve Reece said.
The increased minutes and production for Rosado was bad news for Jamille Reynolds. The 6-9 St. Pete Lakewood big played a total of 10 minutes the final two games combined in Atlanta. Reynolds has since posted on Twitter that he was leaving E1T1 to play with Nightrydas Elite.
Rosado averaged 19.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1 block for a 20-win Palm Beach Lakes squad his junior year.
Asked what he needs to work on, the E1T1 big said, “I want to get a little bit more … my agility better. Rebound the ball better. Be a better teammate.”
