But, they wouldn’t be the first — nor the last — to have him plastered on a recruiting board. After playing a vital role on a Kaukauna team that would give Nicolet a run for their money in last year’s state tournament, then stamping his name in a few marquee recruiting tournaments so far this spring, he’s compiled quite the list of programs.
I caught up with the guard during the thick of his recruitment to get up-to-speed on his interested schools.
“I’m still in touch with Lipscomb and Belmont as of now with all the coaching changes happening,” said Ferris. “Michigan Tech wants me to take a visit soon. West Texas A&M’s coach plans on watching me in Vegas in July. I also plan on taking an unofficial to Vanderbilt (but I did reach out to them first).”
Division one schools have been reaching out as well, as Davidson has been maybe the most active with Ferris, “I got invited to the Davidson Elite Camp, so I think we’ll plan on going there at the beginning of June. Davidson was supposed to be there (Hard Work Live) to watch. He couldn’t make it so he invited me to the elite camp in June.”
Ferris has kick-started that recruiting snowball that so many others have struggled with, as more and more schools are noticing others interest.
But, for the junior, he’s really only scratched the surface of snowball potential. Ferris will have the rest of this spring to rake in schools, his high-potential recruiting pit stops being the Las Vegas Fab 48 and the NY2LA tournament in Mequon. He will also have his senior season at Kaukauna to impress lingering scouts.
