A bunch of solid prospects took part in the action.
Here is a look at Part 2 of the standout performer’s list.
ICYMI:
Moussa Diabate (DME/Nightrydas 16U)
It was a slow start for 2021 6’11” DME forward Moussa Diabate with Nightrydas 16U this past weekend. He normally plays with the 17U group alongside guys like Scottie Barnes, Isaiah Todd and Dudley Blackwell. Diabate tried to do too much at the beginning, but as the game settled in, he got better. His length, intelligence, ballhandling and jumper make him a prime high-major Division I center. Plus, he’s one of the most personable kids I’ve ever seen. Pittsburgh, UF and Oklahoma State represent the three offers he’s earned this spring.
AJ Brown (Orlando Christian Prep/E1T1 15U)
Part of a deep and lengthy E1T1 15U group, 2022 6’3″ Orlando Christian Prep guard AJ Brown is still growing into his body. He put his game on full display with a massive dunk attempt against Team Parsons 15U where he almost took the defender to the ground. A shooter and a passive kid, Brown is starting to become more aggressive and use his athleticism fully. Expect a huge summer and fall as he heads into his sophomore campaign.
Tony Livingston (Carrollwood Day/E1T1 15U)
Pictured above-—Alongside Brown, 2022 6’6″ Carrollwood Day guard/forward Tony Livingston was just as impressive as an attacker. He was routinely getting inside, blowing by defenders with his nice mix of strength and foot speed. As a freshman at Carrollwood Day, Livingston was settling for jumpers, but now he’s flourishing for E1T1 15U and using his rangy body to his advantage. He’s a clear Division I talent.
Alex Fudge (Lee/Team Parsons 16U)
Active on the glass in a tough matchup against Nightrydas 16U, 2021 6’6″ Lee forward Alex Fudge was active from the jump. He was flying into the paint on the boards and using every inch of his length to put back baskets. He had multiple sequences where he grabbed a rebound on the offensive glass, put a dribble down and slammed it home. Lee is packed with energy. He holds an offer from UNF.
Jah Nze (Hagerty/Team Parsons 15U)
This marked the second straight weekend that I was able to watch 2022 6’3″ Hagerty guard Jah Nze. He is clearly stronger than most players his age and able to win battles inside, but what impressed me the most this week was his ability to mix it up as a ballhandler and hit from long range with defenders in his face. The sky is the limit for Nze and he is well on his way with Team Parsons 15U this summer.
Camden Easley (Orlando Christian Prep/Team Speights 16U)
Making his debut with Team Speights 16U after playing previously with Nightrydas 16U, 2021 6’8″ Orlando Christian Prep Camden Easley was a difference maker down low for his new squad. Easley fits the team mindset with Team Speights as he loves to run up and down the floor and he can work inside or beat you with a quick jumper in transition. Easley is only going to get better with more playing time.
David Delancy (Franklin Academy/Nightrydas 14U)
Still figuring out where he’ll play high school ball in the fall, 2023 6’3″ Nightrydas guard David Delancy is a young prospect to keep a close eye on. Well versed as an offensive playmaker, I’m always impressed with his level of focus and confidence on the court. He never lets anything rattle him. Delancy was really smart in transition, dishing out sweet lead passes and hitting mid-range shots.
Larry Scott (Jupiter/Jupiter Jaguars)
Miami always has gritty guards and 2020 6’3″ Jupiter guard Larry Scott fits that notion. He was drilling 3’s time and time again in a Saturday evening tilt with the Brevard Bulls to cap off the first day of action. I saw him again the next day and Scott was just as good. He is hard to slow down with his quick twitch moves and his reliable and well formed jumper.
Walter Clayton (Lake Wales/Nightrydas 16U)
Not playing at 100 percent healthwise, 2021 6’2″ Lake Wales guard Walter Clayton is currently making noise in the football world (Tennessee, Nebraska, Notre Dame and West Virginia offers since April 24). A safety on the football field, Clayton plays the same way on the basketball court. He came alive in the jampacked game against Team Parsons 16U with some realy big 3’s. Clayton has an offer from USF for basketball and will certainly be able to pick either sport when that time comes. He has endless vibrancy in his game.
