Big Shots West VA 2020 Michael Maumbe: One of the better rebounders that we saw throughout the day, he plays with the mentality that every board belongs to him. He understands proper position and how to use his athleticism to his benefit which leads to him coming up with a nice amount of rebounds. Offensively he was solid, he did a nice job of finishing inside the paint and playing within the strengths of his game. After talking with him post game, I was informed that he some very strong D2 interest at this point and will look to continue to raise his stock with his play.
CEBA 2022 Forward Zachary Perry: Another player that will be one to keep an eye on over the next years, he has legit height at 6’8 and plenty of upside. He rebounded the ball well and showed some flashes of what he could possibly be, in one sequence in particular that stood out, he pulled down a rebound, dribbled up court and hit a defender with behind the back dribble before dropping off a pass for an assist.
Dallas Seawolves 2022 PG Abdulnoor Beyah Jr: The youngest player on the 17U team, he turned plenty of heads with the way he was able to lead the squad. He is a quick PG that can get his team into their sets in a hurry offensively but doesn’t allow himself to get sped up very often. A knock down shooter from three point land, as well as a gifted passer, he does plenty of the things that you love to see from a PG.
Dallas Seawolves 2020 Guard Tyrone Woods: We would classify him as a 3 & D guy, from what we got the chance to see this weekend. He’s a defensive specialist that makes his opponents work hard on every possession but does so without fouling. On the offensive end he knocked down shots (especially from three point range), moved well without the ball and played within the flow of the team concept.
Dallas Seawolves 2020 Forward Roderick McGarthy: Any time you have a player that is a legit wing at about 6’8, they grab your attention pretty quickly, as that’s the case with Roderick. He has a nice skillset, can score the ball in multiple ways, and plays the game with a bit of an edge to him, last but not least he is another outstanding defender that moves his feet and defends without fouling.
Capital City Vipers 2021 Guard Tysean Dawson: A quick guard that loves to play the game at a high tempo pace, he got some buckets simply by turning on the jets and beating players down the court in transition. His jumpshot is an attribute that should transition to the next level pretty easily as he gets good lift and arch on his shot, so shooting over taller defenders is not much of an issue.
Capital City Vipers 2020 Forward/Center Leon More III: Provided a good interior presence for his team, he has legit height and a long wingspan that helps him to come up with some blocks. Offensively he still has some areas that he can improve but there is plenty to like about him already.
