Jacob Johnson is the brother of Jeremy Johnson who played two years Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is now at UC-San Diego as a junior. Jeremy built up a long offer list after his senior season picking up D1 scholarships. Jeremy is likely to have many programs hoping to land him after this excellent senior year.
“My brother taught me to use my size and length to get to my spots on the floor and working hard on the right things translate to the game,” Jacob said.
The Champlin Park Rebels were expected to be good but at 19-5 they’ve been even better than expected. Just like Jacob.
“I think for the team we’re playing really well and we want to get to state so we’re still working towards that,” Johnson explained. “I think I’m playing good but I know I have more that I can show and do.”
Johnson credits an off-season of work on his own plus time spent with his high school team and his Heat Nelson squad for the giant boost in his production.
“I had a good summer of workouts that gave me the skills and confidence that I needed.”
What college programs have done the intelligent thing by getting in touch regularly with Jacob about his college basketball future?
“Lake Region State, Valley City State, and Mayville State,” Jacob listed.
