Continue ReadingPleasant Hill is in the post-season and Logan Pruitt has been a big part of that success. The all-around 6-foot-5 senior has gotten it done all over the court for the Billies all year long. While offense has always been one of Pruitt’s strengths, it’s his development in other areas that has college programs interested in his services for next year.
“I was the leading scorer in our league,” Pruitt said. “Defensively, I’ve gotten tougher this year so I’m able to lock down other team’s players.”
On the year Pruitt averaged just short of 15 ppg. For Pleasant Hill, he’s played as an undersized post player with creative moves down low, but Pruitt has also improved his face-up outside shot and ability to create off the dribble – all important as he knows his future at the next level will likely be on the wing.
A number of programs from the D-III (Lewis & Clark, Pacific Lutheran) and JC (Clark, Lane, Linn-Benton) have shown interest in Pruitt and he’s keeping things open until the season ends and he can make some visits. “Cost, education, playing time, and location are my biggest concerns when choosing a school,” he said.
There’s at least one more game for Pruitt and the Billies and it’s a rematch against Catlin Gabel. The last time the teams met Catlin Gabel won at the buzzer and this time Pruitt is definitely hoping for a much different result.
“I think we are prepared,” Pruitt said. “But we have to go out and see what happens.”
Pruitt currently ranks as the #59 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
