Player of the Week: Week 13
As we near the end of our Player of the Week polls for the year, last week’s winner was Junior Ben Carroll of Greenwood. Here’s a look at this week’s nominees:
Player of the Week:
- Lincoln County Junior Riley Bodner – The 6’9 Junior recorded a Triple Double in the district semifinal win over Boyle County. Bodner had 18 points, 14 rebounds and 14 blocks with 3 assists for the Patriots. He followed that up with 2 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocks in the district championship win over Danville. Bodner made the All-Tournament Team
- Floyd Central Senior Brady Conn – The big man recorded 30 points and 16 rebounds in the Jaguars’ upset win over Lawrence County in the district semifinals before 12 points and 8 rebounds in the district championship win on Friday night against Prestonsburg. Conn was named the District Tournament MVP.
- Bardstown Junior JJ Traynor – The 6’7 forward had a big week for the Tigers. Traynor scored 26 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in a win over Thomas Nelson in the district semifinals then added 21 points, 11 rebounds, 7 blocks and 3 assists for Coach Brewer’s squad in the district championship win.
- PRP Senior Darius Osborne – The 6’7 forward scored 19 points in the district semifinals against Valley before having a monster game of 32 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 5 blocks in the district title win over Fairdale.
- Taylor County Senior Nick Knifley – The point guard had 6 points in the district semifinal win over Campbellsville before tallying 21 points in the district championship game win over Marion County. Knifley was also voted to the regular season 20th District and tournament teams.
- Madisonville-North Hopkins Junior Kenny White – The 6’7 wing scored 15 points and added 5 rebounds in limited action of a 58 point win in the district semfinals then had 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Maroons in the Championship game win.
