Behind Junior Guard Quincy Taylor who is ranked in our Prep Hoops 2020 class has been on a tear all year. In this season he has showed great ability to score at the rim and knock down open jumpers. With a smooth lefty stroke and a college ready body Quincy has been making his way through the whole season. Leading his team to a great record Quincy has been averaging big numbers and making big noise in the city of Sacramento. Quincy has put up some big numbers through out the season. He is averaging 16ppg and 8 rebounds and 4 assist with that. He scored a season high of 22 against Linclon High and also doped 21 points on league opponent Yuba City.
With a very good supporting player in 5-9 Junior Malik Ilbarra, he is avergaing 9 points and 2 assist. Hi impact on the game does not come from his stats. Malik has been the staple for this West Campus team. While Quincy has been carrying the big load scoring alot of the teams points. Malik has been causing turnovers making sure the team is in the right spot and creating steals. He leads the West Campus group with 1.2 steals a game.
Since jumping into conference play. The have recorded a 2-0 record. Beating Natomas High with a score of 62-47 and Demetrius Marshal leading the charge with 14 points as a Senior. Their next victory came against Johnson of Sacramento with a score of 69-54. Being the only other team besides Cordova in the league that is 2-0 West Campus sits at the top of the thrown. With their next conference game against Cordova. Someone will take soul place of first place in the greater Sacramento league.
Some of the notable wins that West Campus have gotten are against Linlcon, Yuba City, Mountain House and Bella Vista. Some tough and recorded hurting loses are against Rocklin, River Valley and Chavez. Trying to repeat a great previous year that ended with a section title. West Campus has putting together one of the best records in school history, trying to beat the previews record of 25-8 of last year. Which will be hard to do, with the conference getting better then they were the previous year, will West Campus be able to get where they left off?
There next game will be on January 16th at Rancho Cordova.
