In determining the post-season bracket, most everything is defined by the OSAA rankings but there are several rules that are followed. These are four of the top ones:
– There are two (2) automatic qualifiers from each conference
– The final four spots will be determined by four play-in games between the next eight teams with the highest rankings
– Each league champion is guaranteed a home game and thus, a top 8 seed
– Same league matchups are avoided in the first round, so teams may be moved around to accommodate
Because of the play-in games, it is impossible to fully project a bracket at this time. The 12 qualifiers right now are:
Banks
Seaside
Marshfield
Woodburn
Stayton
Henley
Gladstone
Baker
Marist Catholic
North Marion
McLoughlin
Klamath Union
And the eight teams that would participate in a play-in game would be:
Sweet Home
Philomath
Valley Catholic
Newport
Sisters
Hidden Valley
Mazama
Cascade
