Recruiting Report: Brian Dugazon (2019)
A 2019 point guard flying under the radar down in Miami is Brian Dugazon.
The 5’9″ Stranahan guard is a speedster full of energy, shooting ability and elusiveness. Dugazon recorded 35 points against nationally ranked University School in a near upset in the preseason.
No offers have come for the senior, but he’s drawn interest from FIU, Iowa and Albany State.
Dugazon called his junior season at Stranahan tough.
“I’ve improved my confidence and made things better in myself at first I didn’t have that much confidence in my game my 11th grade season,” Dugazon told Prep Hoops. “As the season went on, I started to gain confidence in myself including my teammates.”
Reclassing from 2020 to 2019, Dugazon is already showcasing his pure scoring ability.
This summer, he suited up for the South Florida Rockets, a team that mainly consists of his Stranahan teammates. He said it was great as the team traveled and got exposure playing some elite teams.
He pointed to his ability to get everyone involved, contribute with his teammates as his biggest strengths. His vocalness is something he’s aiming to improve the most.
Look for Dugazon to continue to build on his steady summer and eye opening performance against University late last month. Stranahan is a tough minded group in Class 6A and Dugazon is the guy who keeps the offense going most nights.
