More than a Football Player????
More Than a Football Player????
With the High School Football season about to come to an end in the next couple of weeks, I wanted to highlight some of the top football players in Texas that are also very good at basketball and will help their high school teams this season on the court.
Meet The Athletes????
Garrett Wilson / 6’2” / PG / Lake Travis / 2019
Wilson is one of the best receivers in the Nation and has committed to The Ohio State Buckeyes. He is also a talented basketball player who was ranked in the top 20 prospects in the state of Texas by multiple recruiting services and had a couple of D1 offers before he decided to focus more on football. There is still speculation that Wilson may enroll to Ohio State in the spring but if he decides to remain at Lake Travis for the rest of his senior year and play basketball, he will definitely help their chances to win a State Title. Wilson is an explosive athlete that knows how to get by his man off the dribble and has good body control when attacking the rim. He excels in transition and can finish plays himself or create for others.
Trejan Bridges / 6’1 / SF / Hebron / 2019
Bridges like Wilson is also considered a top wide receiver in the nation. Bridges is committed to play football for Oklahoma next fall. He is currently playing basketball for his high school varsity team and reportedly lead his team in scoring his first game back. Trejan knows how to score it and is very aggressive on the offensive end with the ball in his hands.
Ronnie Sanders / 6’3” / SG / Crowley / 2019
Sanders is committed to play division 1 football for New Mexico St. but he’s also a talented basketball player that is ranked in the Top 150 players in the state of Texas for the class of 2019. He’s a long athletic guard that uses his length on the defensive end to make it hard on opposing players. He can score it well off the bounce and thrives in the open court with the ball in his hands.
