The senior from Amarillo, Texas is a player that not a lot of people in the state may know about due to the fact that he doesn’t live in a big city like Houston, Dallas, Austin or San Antonio. He also elected to play AAU for a team in Oklahoma so it was hard to keep up with the Texas native. I was able to check him out yesterday at the Keller Tournament in Dallas Texas and it didn’t take me long to see that Bj is a Top 150 player in the state for his class. Anderson has one D2 offer currently but that may change if he continues to do well against opposing players at these big tournaments.
Bj Anderson / 6’5” / Forward / Amarillo Tascosa
Anderson has a college ready body to go with good athleticism and long arms. Anderson vs. Keller showed his ability to grab tough rebounds and finish through players near the basket. He also has decent perimeter skills and can handle it and knock down jumpers if given enough space.
Don’t Let The Look Fool You!
Preston Hannah from Keller High School does not look like a typical basketball player. The scrawny long haired Senior looks the part of a skateboarder, but when you watch him play you realize real quick that the old saying is true, “Never Judge A Book By Its Cover.” Against Tascosa Hannah made plays for his teammates with the ball in his hands and knocked down jumpers from multiple areas on the court.
Preston Hannah / 6’0” / PG / Keller / 2019
Hannah is a savvy ball handler that can get past you with nice crossover combinations and can get own shot off the bounce. He is a good decision maker that helps create baskets for his teammates. D3 and NAIA Coaches should come and watch this top 200 2019 state prospect soon.
The Zambie Brothers propel Plano West over Cedar Hill
Plano West has some talented players on their basketball team and against the Cedar Hill Longhorns they showed the ability to excel in transition. The Wolves were led by the Alec and Ryan Zambie who did a little bit of everything on the offensive end for their team.
Ryan Zambie / 6’2” / SG / 2019
Zambie knows how to get a basket in the full court and also the half court setting. He goes to the rim hard and is not scared to go at defenders when he attacks. Has a good looking jumpshot that can knock it down if given enough space.
Alec Zambie / 6’6” / Forward / 2021
Alec Zambie the younger brother of Ryan is a good looking young prospect that has a long frame and good feel for the game. Zambie Finished well I’m the paint with his nice touch from 15 feet and in.
Other Notables
2022 Brandon Walker has a chance to be special.
Brandon Walker / 6’5 / PF / Cedar Hill / 2022
Walker didn’t score it that much against Plano West but his strong body combined with his athleticism was on full display on the defensive end of the floor. Walker has great timing and knows when to rebound the ball at its highest point. He also did a good job of blocking and altering shots when players challenged him at the rim. He’s only a freshman but has the athletic gifts to be a good college prospect in the next upcoming years. He reminds me a lot of a young Cam Mcgriff when he was a Freshman.
