Grace Christian School (Sanford,NC) Season Preview
Grace Christian is a program that is on the rise and has a team that features prospects that can play on multiple levels. We got the chance to see the squad last season as well as over the summer and left impressed with how much talent and potential that they had. Let’s take a look at some of the players on this roster that we expect to have a good year and that college coaches should be tracking.
2019 Guard Nate Yow: I rarely mention NBA names when talking high school basketball but his style of play and IQ for the game reminds me of a young John Stockton. He reads defenses well, has good leadership qualities, is a gifted passer and can knock down shots from deep. This young man truly lives in the lab and he has gotten better each and every year, colleges should be keeping a close eye on Nate Yow.
2019 Guard Evan Cheek: We are expecting a big year from Evan as he has shown in multiple settings and situations that he has the tools to be a very good player and prospect. Certain players seem like they always find ways to score the ball and Evan is one of those guys, despite the defensive pressure of scheme, he finds ways to score or draw fouls.
2019 Forward/Center Julian Steinfield: What is there not to like about a player that is 6’10, rebounds at a very high rate, shoots the deep ball well and is still improving. Those reasons and more are why we are looking to forward to seeing him perform this season, we feel he has a chance to showcase his abilities and turn the heads of college coaches.
2020 Forward Allan Taylor: This could be a breakout year for Allan, he has all the tool to be successful which we saw this spring and summer. He is comfortable with his back to the basket, has good height at 6’8, rebounds it well and has the potential to be a 20/20 guy if he works hard every night.
2019 Forward Cade Cross: He still has a ways to go but you have to like his upside and what he can possibly be. 6’5 with a soft touch in and out of the paint, once he add some more muscle and polishes up his game, he can be a very nice prospect overall.
