USF Elite Camp Standouts: Part 2
Just over 81 prospects took part in the USF Elite Camp on Saturday.
With some top talent there from the younger groups and the older ones as well, it was a nice mix of basketball.
Here is the look at the second part of the top standouts.
ICYMI: Part 1
The maturation of James Repass continues to flash this summer. The 2021 Providence big man is fundamental as can be and it showed at USF. At 6’9″, Repass has slimmed down and is more adaptable as an inside presence and outside mid-range shooter. He comes in at No. 17 in the first ever 2021 Prep Hoops Florida rankings.
From the spring to this juncture of the year, Max Jones has excelled as a playmaker. The 2020 Clearwater guard is a reliable shooter with good form, but he’s attacking more and getting to the cup. Jones is confident right now and he looked the part at USF’s camp. He is the No. 75 overall player in the 2020 Florida rankings.
Jacob Crews (Superior Collegiate)
An energetic and impactful player, Jacob Crews is settling in nicely here in the Tampa/Clearwater area. The 6’7″ forward is a quick shooter who is hard to control as a defender. Headed to Superior Collegiate, Crews is getting better and better playing against tough competition. As long as he can get stronger, he’ll be in line for plenty of college attention. Crews is No. 41 in the 2020 Florida rankings.
The instincts for Kanye Jones are seasoned and despite just being a sophomore, he has all the tools to be a successful varsity player. The 2021 First Academy guard is an emerging talent and at his 6’1″ frame, he doesn’t back down from a challenge and thrives as an attacker. Jones comes in as the No. 19 overall player in the 2021 rankings.
Over at Windermere, Trey Moss is a rising talent. The 2021 guard cuts to the basket and is always active when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands. A lead guard, Moss stands at 6’1″ and although his jumper wasn’t hitting, he was finding a way to contribute on both ends of the floor. He is No. 12 overall in the 2021 rankings.
