2019 IMG G Jahmius Ramsey talks recruitment, abilities and more
Last year, IMG earned one of the most explosive athletes via transfer.
His name is Jahmius Ramsey.
The 6’4″, 195-pounder is blazing fast and someone who is a thrill to watch. He gets up and down the court with his athletic group, shoots the mid-range well and loves to attack the rim.
Coming down from Texas Mansfield Summit, he called his debut season down in Bradenton a great experience. He said he was able to become more explosive and more efficient as a scorer.
This summer, Ramsey played with Drive Nation (Texas) on the EYBL Circuit.
“It’s been a fun ride for the time that I have been with them,” he told Prep Hoops.
Right now, Ramsey holds 25 Division I offers.
Here is the list:
Maryland, Baylor, NC State, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida, LSU, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, SMU, Illinois, UNLV, Arkansas, Tulsa, Louisville, Kansas State, Texas-Arlington, North Texas, Tulane, Oregon, Indiana, Michigan and Wake Forest.
Ramsey also said that Duke, Kansas and Ohio State have expressed strong interest as of late.
Pointing to his biggest strengths, Ramsey said that his ability to get to the basket, shoot from outside, create for others and play hard nosed defense.
He says he wants to get better at his one dribble pull up, his communication on the floor and just to continue to soak up knowledge of the game.
Despite his natural talent and high scoring ability, Ramsey plays the game the right way. He isn’t cocky or loud on the court. He lets his game do the talking with his highlight reel dunks, jumpers and attacks inside.
Ramsey is a joy to watch, kids and parents around the gym always know what court he is playing on in AAU ball and in high school tournaments.
