Recruiting Report: Dakota Moore (2019)
2019 Boca Ciega guard Dakota Moore is off to a hot start this season.
Averaging 18.2 PPG for the Pirates. He’s in his third year on varsity and playing hard. At 6’0″, 150 lbs., the junior is progressing smoothly.
In terms of what he took away from his sophomore season, this is what he said.
“What I learned the most from last season was that I had to be more aggressive scoring the ball,” Moore told Prep Hoops Florida. “What I’m proud of was that I helped us get out of the district because that’s something we haven’t done in the past four years.”
Moore’s goals for this season are to make it to the state tournament and average 18-22 PPG.
Over the summer, he ran with 1Family. It was his second year with the program, he called it a good one overall.
No offers have come yet for Moore, but he’s drawn interest from FGCU and North Florida as of late.
Moore pointed to his jumper off the dribble and finish at the rim as two things that have improved in his game. He’s looking to strengthen his 3-point shot.
Boca Ciega is in good hands with Moore rising to the challenge. He is maturing before our eyes and really take command. The Pirates have a young group that should make a strong push in Class 7A.
